Hi all I could use some help. I have recently built my lizardmen army as they were the first Warhammer Army I actually got back in 98. I have played small games of 1320 so far but now most of my units have arrived so I will have a 2500 point game against daemons Sunday. The daemon player can take practically anything from the army book and he changes his lists allot. In most games though he is consistent in having a large horde 40-50 of lesser daemons and two soulgrinders and a daemon prince or greater daemon. These are supported with auxiliary units that can vary such as horrors or fiends. He also likes to take 6 bloodcrusers in one unit. Unfortunately my mage priest has not arrived yet so I will be without any heavy duty magic. What I can field Oldblood on Carnorsaur x 2 oldblood or scar vet on cold ones x1 oldblood or scar vet on foot x 2 skink priests 40 sarus warriors 20 temple guard Stegadon basilidion x3 terredons 14 cold one riders 40 skinks Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not sure I'm the best to give you advice since I'm mostly theoryhammer savvy on demons, but no one else stepped up. If you know what type of army you are facing, you should check out the end section of mymy tactica on the subject, but I'm going to assume that you could be facing any number of demons. Given your model limiations I would definitely take the Carnosaur. An Oldblood on a Carnosaur should be able to handle most greater demons. Give him the Other Trickster's Shard to be safe. I'd probably take both Skink Priests and at least one Saurus Cowboy. You can't really go wrong with Beasts or Heavens since Beast should help your lot of characters or with Wyssans and Heaven spells are versatile (and lots of demons fly). For Core take a few Skirmishers to protect your Skink Priests and maybe another pack of Skirmishers beside and a bunch of Saurus. I'd toss in the Stegadon and Bastiladon and then spend whatever is left on Temple Guard or Cold One Cavalry. I don't see Terradons as helping much.
