To give you some important knowledge about my style, I am not a min/max or WAAC player. I like to play a fun game with a good army, but I don't want to use only the strongest build or units. I like theme and fluff and will choose them over army strength. That said, I do appreciate thoughts on how to play something or if it is viable. In Lizards I like saurus over skinks and I like dinosaurs, mainly because I am still a kid at heart. Therefore I give you... Oldblood on Carnosaur (40 points of magic items HELP ME!) Scar-vet BSB (50 points of magic items HELP ME) 30 Saurus FC 10 Skink Skirmishers w/Brave (javelin & shield) Stegadon Ancient Stegadon 1 Razordon (I know that Sallies are better, but I don't have the models and I have the razordon painted) So my questions are... 1) What magic items? 2) Should I divide my Saurus block into two and get rid of skinks to add points to saurus blocks?
Hey for your carnosaur rider i would recomend him taking: the charmed shield to defend him from the first cannon shot a light armour and you are already at 1+ armour save and then pick one of the following *`s listed as which i find best but they are all pretty good choices *burning blade of chotec + luckstone *sword of strength + luckstone *sword of battle + luckstone *dawnstone + 5 point magic weapon *bane head and 15 point magic weapon for the scar vet: shield and then one of the following best in my opinion is first again *armour of destiny *sword of +2 attacks + luckstone + light armour *light armour *dawnstone + gamblers armour you should probably not split up the saurus as that makes them incredibly easy to take out of the game a heavy chariot can take out 15 saurus but 30 is something to deal with keep the skinks but give them blowpipes instead you may want to consider giving up some saurus for a lvl 1 priest with the diadem of power to get some extra magic defense
I like the list...though going without magic is going to be hard on your Saurus. I'll add that a great weapon is another good choice for the Oldblood. Also, I would absolutely keep the Sknks, and keep the Javelins. I don't leave home without at least two units of Javelin Skinks, even in a smaller game. But I second the advice to keep the Saurus in one big block!
