Well my latest obsession army has been Lizardmen and am def going to buy some stuff when i get the cash. I mean WTF is more awesome than dinosaur warriors riding dinosaur mounts? Nothing i tell you, nothing! SO, i was making a lizardmen list today, and was thinking about how i wanted my army to be run. well, when i see lizardmen in my head, i see hulking behemoths rampaging through swarms of smaller saurus and skins. I see a general who owns ass running amok through enemy lines ripping his enemies limb from limb just before the main line of stegadons and saurus hit home. I warn you i think this list is a little crazy and it needs to be 3000 points as i had almost nothing in my army at even 2500. I basically needed 500-800 points added to have an actual army to fight with I will have an altered list for 2250 and 1500 but this is my main army plan: 3000 points- Lords: Saurus Oldblood - 466 Carnasaur Light armor Maiming Shield Blade of Revered Heroes: Skink Chief - 380 Ancient Stegadon Stegadon War Spear Skink Priest - 415 Ancient stegadon with EOTG Diadem Tiktaq'To 315 Core: 20 Saurus - 250 FC 20 Saurus - 250 FC 15 Skinks, 2 kroxigors - 190 15 skinks, 2 kroxigors - 190 Special: 5 cold one riders - 250 Blessed Totem Standard x3 terradon riders - 90 rare: x3 salamanders - 225 Any comments would be welcome but remember i did this on purpose this list was not a mistake! For a 2k list i will probably not run such beefed up characters, prob a carnasaur and a few skink priests with probably Oxyotl for my unit of chameleon skinks.
Spears!!!!!!!! Now that predatory fighter has been removed/changed the second rank don't get restricted attacks. Saurus are valuable so you need to be piling them on to minimize losses. Terradons are great harrasment troops, i'd probably go for another unit of 3 if I were you in place of the krox. Kroxigor are fine, providing you don't really rely on them too heavily. They tend not to sit around for too long, or maybe my dice just hate me... Saurus can take buckets and dish it back out, obviously a unit of temple guard in a 3k army wouldn't be a bad idea. The cold ones are great hammer units but will get cut down in drawn out fights, i'd suggest adding a 3 more and bringing it up to 8, doubling the ranks. Not sure about tik, I've never really encountered or considered him...I'm not big on LM characters... With just the one priest, even at lvl 3 the magic phase will hit you hard, you might want to consider switching out the chief for another priest, as much as I love the warspear, I prefer not to be decimated by magic so that's my opinion on the matter.
well i figure with everything M 6 im gonna be in combat very quickly. I played ogres for a bit. Not uncommon to be in combat turn 2. Where does it say saurus dont get spear restrictions when charging and whatnot? i took a lot of cheap stuff because i needed to fill my army with something besides 4 generals on dinosaurs i took cheap units that can get the job done as my generals own stuff.
In the last edition the predatory fighter rule meant that 2nd rank w/ spears only got 1 attack, in the new edition however that is not the case. Of course spears are a defensive weapon and so you don't get the 2nd rank bonus on the charge. Your movement idea is fairly solid, krox do make good flanking units, that said they wont hold up under heavy shooting or combat so use the saurus to distract people....or use something shiny like a shiny shiny penny....
Your army is ileagal .... Your skink Units need 1 more skink in each unit. (You need x8 Skninks Per Kroxigor in the unit ie 16 Skinks =2 Kroxigor).
