I played my first game yesterday it was a small (800ish) points match and I'mk kinda happy with things turned out, I was playing against a Ogre's Kingdom player an Orcs and Goblins player and a Chaos dwarves player My Army list was Skink Priest -150 2 Dispel Scrolls Skink Priest -150 2 Power Stones Saurus Warriors (16) -222 Spears and Full command Skink Skirmishers (11) 77 Skink Skirmishers (11)77 Coming up to a total of 676 (I said 800ish) The Turn order Went O&C Me Chaos Dwarves OK Orcs and Goblins' Turn: The Orcs and goblins moved forward heading towards the chaos dwarves and ends his turn with out casting magic. Lizardmen's Turn: I stay where I am I start casting magic from my skink priests I rolled pretty crappy with my magic as both my mages could cast the comet of casadora, one could cast forked lightning and one the portent of far, my dice rolls turn up from there as I'm sucessful in Irrestiable force casting two comets right infront of the OK's army Chaos Dwarves' turn: (The comet gets another counter on it) he casts steed of shadows on his hero and puts her into a rear attack on the Ogre kingdom's General she gets two wounds on him and takes nothing herself Ogre Kingdoms' turn: (The Comet comes down) I roll a 6 for the inches and I'm able to strike his entire army except the standard bearer the end up taking 10 hits and seeing as he plays a bunch of individual units everything except the Standard Bearer and the Butcher end up dead they both pass their leadership test and continue to move towards The CD's Orcs turn: He intiates a Waaaa and ends up moving all his troops in a nice straight line infront of the chaos dwarves he realizes at this point that taking out his archers meant that he wouldn't see much action he casts fist of Gork and it's quickly dispelled Lizardmen's Turn: I start spamming forked lightning able to get off 5d6 worth of hits heading towards the Orcs unit of black orcs, he rolls badly for the armor save and he takes about 8 deaths he then fails his panic test forcing them to flee, and his goblins to flee, and his basic orcs to flee and you see where this is going Chaos Dwarves' turn: He turns his blunderbuss unit and his greatweapon team to face the oncoming two Ogre not seeing me as much of a threat and ends up bringing all the two remaining ogre's down to one wound apiece Ogre Kingdoms' turn: He decides he's angry with me and starts marching to get to me his two models remaining don't make it that far as they must walk through chaos dwarves territory. Orcs turn: The Majority of his units Flee off of the table but he is sucessful in rallying his warboss and heading it back into the fight (He has spent the entire time gloating that when his warboss gets too me my entire army was going to die) he then casts Gaze of mork which is dispelled Lizardmen's Turn: My skinks make it into range to attack the Ogre Kingdoms butcher, and it as this point he reveals that it is immune too poison my thoughts were not very forum friendly but it seemed the dice gods were with me and I'm able to strip it of one wound (He then Concede's) Chaos Dwarves' turn: (He has to leave to go to work so he just Conceded) Orcs turn: He gets his warboss within twelve inches of my skinks, he kept on just blindly charging his warboss at this unit while my other unit attacked him Lizardmen's Turn: My skinks take advantage of his lack of mobility and the killing blow is dealt to him. Overall, it was a good match I think we all had fun (Or atleast I think we did.) Anyone have anything to say about this or any reccomendations for me to change next time?
Not having my book infront of me at the time of posting I looked up an online army generator and grabbed my point cost from that.
EW is right, what magic level were your skink priests? Level1 or Level2? If they are level 2 then he has the correct points value listed.
Not necessarily, since powah stones cost less points than scrolls... The two priests should not cost the same points.
I had forgotten about the reduction in points cost for power stones. The priest with the dispell scrolls has the correct cost. The stone priest does not.
That was mean to the Ogre player, doesn't he/she suffer enough for playing ogres in the first place? haha
what do you mean with 5d6 hits, did you cast it 5 times? and how can you spam forked if you can only cast it once every turn? great report of a fun game, i never played chaos dwarves, they seem to be extinct in my area
Unfortunately (at least to me, I love the nasty little fellas!) Chaos Dwarves were last released in Ravening Hordes which pre empted the previous lot of Army books, Im looking at the possibility of building a WoC army using and heavily converting Dwarves to make a "Chaos Dwarf" List. (Hell Cannons anyone?) was hoping when Ogre Kingdoms came out there might be some hope in a Chaos Dwarf re-release but so far no dice.....
there is a indied armie book of chaos dwarves recently released To download it http://www.filedropper.com/fdwarfsofchaos i got a free copy cause my friend drawed the cover art of the book and is the only guy in my region that plays those jolly bastards
ahh... don't know if my local groups will accept it then, though I'll see what I can wheedle in, thanks again!
