8th Ed. first time fighting a skaven general

    Hi guys,
    i have a friend wo only just started collecting skaven. he went all out and bought about 2300pts of stuff including 2 warpstone cannons, and 2 doomweels. but luckely enough no hellpit yet :p.

    This week will be my first time fighing a skaven army. we have agreed on a 1500 pts game, with no lords.
    What(spells/units)should i look out for ?
    Are there any lists you would recomend, or anything really worth having vs skaven lists?
    Does an all skink list have any potential vs skaven?

    tl;dr
    some protips vs skaven
    all help is welcome!

    I played against rats with a lot of skinks. Must say, this is not good decision. Because, when my opponent used Storm Banner, I lost all my chances to win. Skinks just couldn't shoot with poison.

    Also, against doomweels and warpstone cannons is good to use Urannon's Thunderbolt or Chain Lightning. ;)

    Salamanders are a must for thinning ratty ranks and causing panic tests. Terradons and chameleons for hunting those warp lighting cannons but beware any doom wheels he takes as their lighting bolts will fry both of these units in short order.

    Skink armies will struggle in combat and the rats have a number of ways of making it harder to shoot them so when it works poison is great but you can't rely on it. Probably best with the std frog in a bunker, lore of light or life...should be able to take anything they can field in a straight fight. Also wouldn't run the frog solo as the Skaven have so many magical ranged and CC weapons as well as their spells even etherial won't really help. But if you do make sure you take the 2+W v Shooting

    take one or 2 a lvl two skink priest and hope for then comet. Miscast with this spell to thin out ranks of rats, then hit blocks of saurus. don't take an EOtG, cause he will eat it up with doom wheel.

    Looks good...A few comments though...

    You don't have a BSB...No army I've ever taken for 8th Edition at 1500 or more has ever not had a BSB.

    I'd try and get some Chamo skinks in there for Warp Ligntning cannon Hunting.

    You are likely to get outclassed in the magic phase anyway at this point level unless you take a Slann. As you're not taking one I suggest either 2 basic skink chiefs, with Cude and Scroll or only one with the cube and use the rest of the points on something else.

    Might consider taking a combat character he can't match i.e. Oldblood as the general then Skink Chief BSB on Steg with Warspear but only if you have Chamos or terradons to shut down his artillery. May also want a flaming weapon in there somewhere to take care of HPA's
