Hello all. Im going to my first warhammer fantasy tournament on saturday and I am pretty excited. Im pretty much going to be using every model I own to field 2500 pts, but I would love to hear your comments and suggestions on how to improve and better prepare my army. Lords Slaan Mage-Priest(410 pts) -Lore of Light, Becalming Cogitation, Harmonic Convergence, Battle Standard Bearer-Standard of Discipline, Channeling Staff, will be joining Temple Guard Heroes Skink Priest (95pts)- Level 1, Lore of Beasts, Cube of Darkness Skink Priest (125pts)- Level 2, Lore of Beasts, Dispel Scroll Core 20 Saurus Warriors(250pts)- Spawn Leader, Musician, Standard Bearer, Spears, 5x4 formation 20 Saurus Warriors(250pts)- Spawn Leader, Musician, Standard Bearer, Spears, 5x4 formation 10 Skink Skirmishers(70pts)- Javelins 10 Skink Skirmishers(70pts)- Javelins Speciall 20 Temple Guard(310pts)- Revered Guardian, Musician, Standard Bearer, Slann will be joining. 3 Terradon Riders(108pts)-Fireleech Bolas 3 Ripperdactyl Riders(120pts) 8 Cold One Riders(367pts)- Pack Leader, Musician, Standard Bearer- Skavenpelt Banner, Spears. 8x1 Formation 5 Chameleon Skinks(65pts) 1 Stegadon(245pts)- Unstoppable Stampede, Sharpened Horns So my thought process was that since I have to take everything I own, I should diversify as much as possible to truly become a jack of all trades army. The slann and skinks will hopefully give me a decent amount of magic control. The skirmishers and flyers will clear out chaff as well as serving as chaff of their own. The chameleon skinks and flyers will be hunting cannons and steam tanks etc. The temple guard and saurus warriors dont have the numbers id like, but lore of light combining with predatory fighter, should hopefully help them even the odds. For heavy hitters I have a cold one unit with frenzy under the skavenpelt banner, and a stegadon with the sharpened horns. I should also mention the ripperdactyls here as I feel like i will be suiciding them into heavy armor more often then not. With 4 banners and my bsb I feel like I should do ok if that scenario is there. I have some poison and fire and lore of lights natural affinity for hurting evil, so my elemental damage is also kinda all over. Its the best I can come up with right now. Please let me know what you think
Are you using the 7th edition book? SCoR are no longer allowed to take a magic banner. Also you're using quite a lot of SCoR which could be used to boost the numbers you felt were low - if you're hurt on models, i'd rather have a 40 man saurus unit, than 2 x 20 man saurus unit.
Nice list. As VampTeddy pointed out, COC can no longer carry a magic standard, did you mean to place it in the TG unit? If I were you, I'd consider changing the lvl1 priest to Heavens since most your dice each round are going to the slann anyway, a lower casting value spell (Iceshard Blizzard) that is very versatile may be the better choice here.
