I am thinking of taking the lore of fire this weekend against skaven. I was wondering if I cast the flaming sword of rhuin on a skink unit, does that mean that they have +1 to wound str4 hits on shooting AND poison? Or does the spell cancel the poison rule?

    Thanks all

**+1 to wound, not hit. I mis read that**

At first I thought that would be stupid and makes no sense, then I remembered lots of things work that way so I opened my book.

Jungle poisons affects all non-magical ranged weapons. Flaming Sword of Ruin gives you the magical attacks and flaming special rules. Sadly it reads that the spell would in fact remove jungle poisons for the duration.

Kinda lame but that is RAW.

That's what I thought. Just getting a second opinion. So, would it be worth it to get the +1 and the extra strength on those shots?

Its still a good spell to have even if you don't give it to a skink. Saurus benefit from it as well. If you really wanted to kill something with a good regen save it might be worth it.
