8th Ed. flee reaction and failed charge

    recently we came upon the following question: if a charged unit declares a flee reaction and is not caught, is the charge a failed charge (i.e. charger moves by the higher score of the charge 2D6 roll), or does the charger move the full charge move (2D6+his M)? by the book, I'd say it is a failed charge, but some guys here disagree.

    It would count as a failed charge unless the charging unit manages to redirect its charge towards another unit within its charge range.

    Yep failed charge, unless they are charging far enough to either catch the fleeing unit or are able to redirect into another unit.
