No story here. Just a fluff question that's been bugging me for awhile. In the 7th edition LM book, on page 18 there is a little blurb about Temple Guard Ranks. Last half of the second paragraph is says:

The Revered Guardian, inevitably the strongest and most savage of the Temple Guard, stands sentry at the very entrance to the inner sanctum of the Slann itself. It is the Revered Guardian, sometimes called the Master of the Twenty Two, who leads the Temple Guard in battle and it is he alone who can grant access to the Slann Mage-Priest.

So.... Why 22? Why not 20 or 21? A 6x4 block of TG with a Slann is 20, and a 5x5 block give you 21.

Is there a fluffy reason why it's 22? Do they count the Slann and the Skink attendant?

Easy:

Eleven (11), looks like 2 standing towers. So 22 resembles 4 standing towers, 1 for each in the corner of the unit of Temple Guard. He is the Master of 22. He's the boss-tower.

;)

How many enemies does he have to kill before becoming the Revered Guardian?
Or how many battles must he survive?
How old must he be?
Also, how many temple-cities were there?
How many saurus are spawned in each spawning?
How much flakes were there in the designers' corn flakes bowl for breakfast wen writing it?

I'm also curious to see what is the answer.

Who is ever the best is made an Eternity Warden. The second third best are made eternity Wardens as long as the Slann want more. Then Revered Guardians.

Thus a large city that sees lots of battles would have the very best Revered Guardians while a small city that sees few battles would have fairly young and inexperienced Revered Guardians

How many Saurus are spawned depends on how many the story requires as are how big the spawnings are.

I'm sure the writers don't eat corn flakes but eat something boiled British thing.

Pfft, excuse me but we have Corn Flakes over here too! Of course this is only during times of greatest need; we all wake up to the smell of the Full English, without it we'd probably fall into chaos. Perhaps it's the preferred amount of sausages?

I'm guessing alliteration myself, that or a nauseous Taylor Swift reference.

Bob, I think I love you (strictly platonic now).

It makes me wonder what would be so 'special' about Special K?

Is there any other chaotic cereal brands?

Nurgle Nut Clusters?
Slaanesh Shreddies?
Tzeentch Crunch?
Khorne Krispies?

I feel like GW is missing out on merchandising opportunity here: £15 for a box of Nurgle Puffs!
I don't think anything could defeat Khorne Flakes however.
Amazing.
I'm happy now.
