can a model on foot with fly special rule join a standard infantry unit? say a vampire lord with flying horror, joining a zombie unit?
Yes. The only restriction that flying places is that characters cannot join a unit when the unit has the ability to Fly (even if the character can also Fly). Flying characters (regardless of the source of the ability) can join any non-flying unit.
