Hopefully someone can help me clarify these Simple Questions:

1: In order to hide my Flying oldblood(Arabyan Carpet) or my lone skink priest (Cloak of feathers), am I allowed to join a unit of Chamelions further ahead on the game board for the 2+ look-out sir aainst cannons?

2: In case of yes: Will my chamelions loose the -2 against shooting hits and instead only gain a -1? Or will the remain -2 and the character only -1 (As he becomes skirmisher) ?

Arabyan Carpet explicitly says the character cannot join units.

Cloak of Feathers does not have this restriction, and so your Skink Priest / Chieftain can join your unit of Chameleons - there are no restrictions on characters with Fly joining units (just the other way around). Bear in mind that the Chameleons will lose the Scout rule in this case.

Given that the character in the unit cannot be targeted, your enemy must be targeting the unit. This means that the additional -1 to hit still applies, so even with the character in there, your opponent should be shooting at -2.

    Hope this helps,
