Hello all,

This guy has been somewhat of a grail for me. Being based on 2nd edition designs it is looking a bit dates, so I really wanted to bring it up to date - and turn it into an Eternity Warden.

This is how it should look:

But the one I got arrived looking like this:

I did get it for a reasonable price, and was aware it had some damage. Thankfully, none of the damage was going to impede my plans!

Ive started the deconstruction, removing the head, hands, back detail and right arm:

Next up, I will start sculpting his chest and back scales.

Thanks for looking!

Yeah same here! It seems very promising!

This is really awesome! Can't wait to see more progress on this!

Is that breastplate a separate piece ?

Looking forward to seeing this finished.

Thanks mate! I'm enjoying the process!

Cheers mate!

I've got at least one update, but its awaiting a mod to have a look at it.

Nope, its all part of the chest, so I had to dremel it away. Was sad to do it, cause I really like the details on the chest piece, but it is definitely outdated...

This looks like an amazing project. Can't wait to see it progress to completion.

never seen this model before :wideyed: epic fighting pose as the temple guard is walking down the stairs...

Its been out of production for many years, and I don't think it sold particularly well. This one is the first I had ever seen in person, and there are very few painted examples online.

Hello again!

Unfortunately due to a fairly demanding job I can only sneak in hobby time on the weekends. But this weekend was fairly productive!

I've added some of the larger "armor" scales on the back, shoulders, thighs and tail. I did this with green-stuff, first by adding a layer of very flat scales over most of the area. I then built up the spine area with thicker and larger scales. There are some smaller scales already molded over the whole body, and I intend to get creative with the paint job to give these areas even more texture.

I didn't have time to fill the gaps between and under the scales, which i intend to do with a mixture of super glue and talcum powder. I find it flows well, dries fast and has a fine grainy texture that I hope will simulate a leathery hide. Most of this area will be covered in armor too.

I initially used some green-stuff molded spikes but I didnt like the texture of them, and I felt they were a little too thick. I found these bamboo toothpicks had a great texture, and were a good thickness, based on Chakax's look in the artwork. The top 4 spikes will have gold 'sheaths' over them too, like the model, so they will inevitably become thicker.

Thanks for looking, more to come!

Scales look so great! Those spikes are going to be awesome!
