So I was thinking we could make a forum wide campaign, using matches we make with our LM armies. Not really sure how to make it work though, so let me hear/read some suggestions folks! What system could we use, setting (if any) how to progress, stuff like that Posted this in AoS discussion because its the only WFB game I play, but I don't see why matches using other editions couldn't count.
Not to ruin the idea but how would we do that? I mean it's not like we all live in the same country so what kind of campaign is it?
Like keeping a ranking of matches we do, awarding points on victories etc. Of course, nothing prevents us from lying and say we win everytime.... So, ideas?
That's a cool idea, @Lord Sa'rk. You could do private online matches. You'd have to proxy with VASSAL via the 40k module, though the base sizes are different. If time zones are an issue, games/textlogs (these are in-client, so no purgery/forgery) can also be saved and e-mailed back and forth, one turn at a time.
I don't think that VASSAL's limited to 40k, but I'm pretty sure that it lacks a WHFB module. It may support other games with square bases, however. It does take some getting used to, but it's a neat little application for testing tactics.
I am working on something that might be ready later today or tomorrow. It will not need anything but trust among the players, and will not feature direct "L-O Member" vs "L-O Member" but will include some "PvP" elements. I'll keep you posted.
Got it down pretty quickly. This is just a quick rundown of the overall theme of the campaign. I will add - a restriction / army building system I have been working on. - Player to Player interaction. - further fluffy mechanics - further explanation / better wording - implementation of other good ideas coming from here.
Im busy for the rest of the day, but tommorow might bring me to put down the restrictions! (for playtesting)
