this is my work so far done about 6 saurus and 12 skinks. thinking of using a brass for the metal rather than gold as the gold wont show up as well due to the yellowness of the models

and colours for Cold ones would like peoples in put please.

Yellow and green go well together, I would suggest making the cold ones green. Also just curious are you going to be darkening the saurus and skinks a bit, for they are very florecent right now.

not 100% atm they're looking ok light atm they're not as fluorescent as the picture makes out however they are bright, was thinking of green as the main colour with the cold ones and redscales, i have some armypainter dip so might give that a go see how it turns out.

    Cyan/blue makes for a good contrast to yellow/orange.. ;)

I like it, and definitely nothing wrong with bright lizards. The scales look a little bit washed out though, I would add a bit more wash or ink to them to darken them a shade or two.

And yeah the gold should change.. If not to brass might be worth trying silver, however, it might also get a bit drowned out. Something dark for a bit of contrast is probably a good idea.

the entire model is ink alot of my painting is done with artists ink as I airbrush them, I own very few gw paints I prefer Daler Rowney fw inks, and valllejeho paints and inks.

just finished the bone on a few of them.

hafts of weapons what do you guys think would be the best colour to use?

and as for metals think im going to go for brass bc and drybrush a light bronze over the top.

Mate, awesome work! It might be hard with the airbrush, but keep in mind there are some scales you have missed with the green. Elbows, skink thighs and faces mostly.

I will be keen to see them with detail like claws, teeth, eyes and weapons picked out. ;) To me the only bit that now looks a little weird is the head plate of the saurus. Bit more highlighting? Or make it green?

Glad you like the board. :D

I am painting my saurus with the head plates the same colour as the scales, since it is more striking. I think it would work for you too. Adding a third colour might give them too much and overwhelm the eye... Either leave as the skin colour but maybe add stripes or spots, or make the scale colour and you should be fine.

made them the same colour as the scales and you're right it does bring out the model quite nicely it's striking but not overwhelming!

hm, just wondering cause someone just mentioned a wash, was it just a wash on top of the original green from the first pics?
    or did you layer/highlight it?

cause it really looks completely different. great job!

I use ink rather than washes, and yeah it's over the original Thraka Green wash, I used a Black/green vallejo Ink, almost finished a rank of saurus now, should have more pics up for tomorrow.
