Hello everyone ! I have recently started to start a Seraphon army. I have already painted the Underworlds Warband in classic colors (see below) as part of a commission. But I have a more "fun" idea for my real army, I'm willing to try a "Neon Dino" theme with lots of bright colors, green, blue, pink, you name it. Very nice looking warband there. Can't wait to see more of your lizards If you want some neon lizards inspiration, check out this blog: https://www.lustria-online.com/threads/the-prismatic-serpents.17988/
Thanks a lot for the links! It makes me sad though. My minis don't look quite as good for 2 reasons: 1) I try not to spend too much time on a mini 2) I'm wayyyyyyyy not as skilled (should have been n°1 AND 2) I love what they did (espacially the first one) but I have something a bit different in mind. While we share the bright colors, I have a more "neon" thme, a bit like a cyberpunk thing. Quick WIP:
That looks excellent! Great colour choice. Your models look really good Everybody paints differently and prioritises different things. If you don't want to spend too long on each model then that's cool. Try not to compare yourself to other painters, just admire their work and take inspiration from it. I apologise if the links were unhelpful to you, it wasn't my intent to discourage you at all.
Just to get some things straight here, your painting is fantastic. There's always going to be better painters and always better paint jobs you can do. But you should never disparage yourself or your work on it. I wish I could paint at your quality for instance. It's pretty awesome.
This. There are at least three or four painters here on the forums that I am 100% sure I cannot EVER compete with, people that are so far above my skill level that I cannot even fully grasp how their painting techniques work. I still keep painting my stuff, having fun and improving (well...actually not right now but in principle). I already got better than I imagined I would get, and I am kinda happy with my results. Same with music. I know dozens of videos of 12 year old kids who play the guitar so much better than me (25 years of practice) that I know I will never reach their level, and yet I still play the guitar. So yeah, shake that off, concentrate on your painting, and I am sure that with a bit of practice you will produce stunning results. From what I have seen it looks like you are already better than me.
+1 @Elthachou if anything, use your OWN previous paint jobs as a standard to compare yourself to. This, in my opinion, is the best method. Always try to do a better job than what you did last time.
Oh no, they are helpful ! I always take inspiration from others. Thanks everyone. I think I'm happy with the Basti. I have troubles choosing a base and howdah color though. I wanted those to be as cyberpunk as possible but after painting the dino I think it wouldn't work if everything is in the same tones. Probably temple stone white or grey then.
He is a bright little chap indeed Great work with the gradient on the top Keep up the good work! Grrr, Imrahil
