Folks, Messing around with options for a 2400 point battle at my local club. I wanted to try something different to the Slann route. I am shy of 2400 (2285) so thinking about what tweaks I would make. Maybe another Skink Skirmisher or maybe another flying unit? Anybody think this list might work and be fun? * Sarus Oldblood Carnasour, Dawnstone, Glittering Scales, GW * Sarus Scar-Veteran Battle standard, Cold One, Enchanted Shield, Light Armour, Luckstone * Skink Priest Ruby Ring of Ruin * Skink Priest Dispel Scroll, To a Level 2 Wizard * 25 xSaurus Warriors Champion, Musician, Standard Bearer * 25 xSaurus Warriors Champion, Musician, Standard Bearer * 10x Skink Skirmisher Javelin and Shield * 10x Skink Skirmisher Javelin and Shield * Bastilidon Solar Engine * 5 x Chameleon Skinks * 3x Ripperdactyl Rider, Ripperdacytl Brave * Ancient Stegadon Sharpened Horns * Salamander Hunting Packs Additional Handler * Salamander Hunting Packs Additional Handler
Equip one of the priests with the cube do you can dispel too spells.other than that your list sort of suffers from you wanting a bit of everything and not making it all the way. For instance your scar vet is one a cold one but not in a unit of COR. You could either put him on foot or give him a bus and maybe have a second or third scar vet to accompany him. Just a suggestion though. Also your OB is only on 2+ for his armour save, not 1+. You should also add in another set of 5 chameleons. 10 chameleons will on average get 3 poison attacks, which is enough to take out war machines. rippers don't need a champion. Personally I've gone over to more skinks, but you could consider bumping one unit of saurus to 30 and removing the other, fill in the rest of your core points with skink skirmishers.
I had a play trying to just tweak the list but taking your feedback into account. The COR's always feel underpowered for what they cost and I am not sure I want to / should put my BSB in the firing line or somewhere he can't do much good by putting him in a flank unit. My original intention was to put him in the Saurus even though he is on a cold one. What do you folks do? 2360, need to figure out what to do with the 40 points * Sarus Oldblood Armor of Destiny, Carnasour, Great Weapon * Sarus Scar-Veteran Battle standard, Cold One, Light Armour, Shield * Skink Priest Cube of Darkness * Skink Priest Dispel Scroll, To a Level 2 Wizard * 30 Saurus Warriors Champion, Musician, Standard Bearer * 10x Skink Skirmisher * 10x Skink Skirmisher * 10x Skink Skirmisher * 10x Skink Skirmisher * Bastilidon - Solar Engine * 5 x Chameleon Skinks (should you run 1 x 10 or 2 x 5?) * 5x Chameleon Skinks * 6 x Cold One Cavalry Champion, Musician, Standard Bearer * 3x Ripperdactyl Rider * Ancient Stegadon Sharpened Horns * Salamander Hunting Pack Additional Handler * Salamander Hunting Pack Additional Handler
Looks fine 40pts is: a 4th ripper, ruby ring on lvl 2 priest, more skinks, get lvl 2 on second priest. And yes 2 x 5 is alright. I like it because should one unit die your have another, do keep their sh1tty Ld5 in mind in case they panic. About COR:.do what you feel like. Best way to learn is by doing and if want to have a lone cowboy that's totally fine. If it works for you you just roll with that, after all I'm only throwing suggestions out there
Lvl2 priest for the choice of spells I think, could be a good excuse to do one beasts and one heaven. I went for 2 Chameleon Skinks for exactly that reason , keep them 6" apart of course. I guess I am still struggling with how to use the COR more than anything else. I have to remember they are a support unit and not a heavy hitting choice. They look so big and tough but they never do the damage I expect. I also wonder if putting the BSB so much in the firing line is sensible. But once again, thanks for the advice and alternative point of view, I have so much to learn about how to play WFB and Lizardmen its all good. Martin
