The druchii.net thread on this can be found here: http://www.druchii.net/viewtopic.php?t=68601

Basically, I've come up with an idea to try and organise a massive online campaign between Lustria Online and Druchii.net, where members of those sites and their dark elf and lizardmen playing friends can all take part by submitting the results of their battles to either site. The thread over there explains it in more detail and you are more than welcome to read it there and feedback here if you're not a dnet member.

My main idea for the Campaign is to revolve it around when the army of Hexoatl invaded Naggaroth to recover the Star Stela of Quetli from Clar Karond.

What I'd be looking for were fluff and story writers, balanced scenario writers, maybe even special characters and items ideas, plus of course any suggestions on running the campaign itself rather than the background story behind it. What I have in mind now is each player of the battle signing up to their respective site if not already a member, and posting a confirmation that the battle took place and this was the result. Each nation could then earn points through wins and draws, until a fixed deadline where the campaign ends and a winner is declared. Either that or the nations fight over provinces, with more wins or losses in a region gaining or losing your nation control of it. At the end the winner is the one controlling more of the opponents territories than the other. Or something to that effect.

But right now I just need to know if you think it's a good and workable idea... I'm sure with some shameless advertising across the boards the interest would be there.

SInce Im very interested in playing Lizardmen and just finished getting an army together.... yeah. Fun! This gives me an excuse to get a campaign going too as it's something Ive been wanting to do. Sounds interesting. I don't know any DE players, but I think you should post this on The Pyramid Vault too. They'd also have interest in this.

Would this be some online games as well (through www.universal battles.com)?

I could do that, but other than that, I do not see my local club particpating in a campaign like this.

I had intended it to be more for people playing tabletop battles and submitting their results to either site.

I don't know how to operate the online battles either. Most players on here will know at least one dark elf player, it is a very popular army today. All you have to do is play your regular game, or perhaps one of the campaign scenarios if you want to get into it, and then submit the reults. Even if you just come up against a DE/LM player at a tournament or game store that knows nothing about it, you can simply ask if they mind popping online afterwards to confirm the result you post. If people put the effort it, I can see it spreading to more than just a few participants.

I don't really have a time schedule in mind, that is something we would have to decide, but if left open long enough for word to get around and people to have time to play a few battles each against a few opponents without leaving it going so long that people lose interest in finding out the results. I'm thinking 3-4 months, as an estimate.

I know people will be willing to play games and submit results. Is anyone willing to help set up the campaign though? Or at least submit ideas?

We need to work on the mechanics before we do the background.

Iv'e often thought about running a map campaign for my local group. If that is the style of campaign you would like to run, then there are some good suggestions on the Druchii.net forum.

I just got done talking to my Dark Elf player and he's all excited about this as well as me too. We even thought of having a thread here (and one there) where you could post pic(s) of the battles - just an idea.

That sounds great. There would be a few threads on each site. One for submitting results and keeping track of which nation is winning, one for reading up on background stories about the campaign, one for writing up battle reports would be cool too. Maybe I could even get a sponsor on board to give a prize at the end for the best battle report as voted by the campaign organisers.

Kinslayer ,if you write a brief overall description of the campaign then I can put it in an announcement which can be seen across the whole forum. Or I could just use your opening post?

This sounds interesting, if you need any help just pm me, strewart or any other mod :)

One idea for battle reporting. Im not sure on how many people use it, but Battle Chronicler seems to be a very useful battle reporting tool. Best of all, it's free to use. Sharp, colorful, and fairly customizable. I just downloaded it, added the scenery pack, and played around with it. Next battle I plan on giving it a trial run. Anyone else use this? Just wondering how convenient it's use would be for a campaign like this one.
For those of you who may not know what I am talking about, here is the link: http://www.battlechronicler.com/

Thanks for the reply. I can do this once it is organised as to advertise the opening of the campaign if that is okay. I am going to come up with a few campaign rules and scenarios myself.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can find as much information on the battle in question as possible (retreiving the Star Stela from Clar Karond). I know it was stolen in -115 imperial reckoning, recovered several hundred years later by a 2nd gen Slann and his army.

Links will do if you can find anything. I will get this organised, it seems some interest at least is there.

It would be useful if I can find people willing to do the following:

    - Combine the Dnet and Lustria Online header fonts in a "vs" fashion (with Admins permission of course) for use as Campaign header.

    - Find any and all fluff on the Star Stela of Quetli being stolen and retrieved and anything useful fluffwise that relates to the incidents...

    - People willing to do write ups, create short stories etc based on the campaign to get the campaign rolling.

    - People with a good knowledge of the game willing to review the scenarios I create and make sure they are balanced.

    - Any further ideas for the campaign.
