Hey guys. I'm an investor from Games-Workshop and the relationship between GW and my company have been stretched pretty thin lately. Myself and many other investors are angry at the way GW did The End Times, because now people don't know if their armies are surviving. That was a shitty, unprofessional move that has not only angered many players, but have stopped people from buying Fantasy all together. Not only that, but GW is refusing to communicate with us on the topic of whether or not armies are surviving, and what the format of 9th edition will be. Good business relies on good communications. I can't invest in a company that does that. As a result, my company, and a few others have completely cut off business with GW over this. It sucks, but if they make bad business decisions and then make the future of a profitable product seem dark and gloomy and leave their investors in the dark, we can't deal with that. We'll probably take our return back and put it into Warmachine or Hoardes.
Interesting. Whilst I always take such sources with a pinch of salt (apologies - this is the internet after all, and I can't take anything to be 100% genuine) GW is known to have incredibly poor transparency both with their customers and third-party retailers. It's quite a shame. Given the above, did they manage to communicate anything at all interesting that would give their insight into future plans/general mind-set, or was it point-blank no communication? I'm very unlikely to rid my LM army, and will most likely filch off eBay etc if they are discontinued
Nothing. The last month they haven't returned our emails or calls. They made sure to let me know my investment is nice and safe and can expect my return though but that was 2 months ago.
Sorry in advance but I have to say this: If its a stretched and/or fake statement that you are in fact a serious investor, and if this thread is a "I hope GW will see this and react" attempt, Then I think its a feeble way to lash out. (As stated above, this IS the internet, and if you speak the truth then disregard this negative comment.) If it is in fact reality, and that you are just venting frustration and/or giving us information: By all means do so. Its very sad to hear a company that big cant handle simple B2B communication in the age of 2015....the irony is that ít is old news by now. I take it you are losing money over it?
Strategy seems to be that FUD++ will be a more effective (and cheaper!) marketing tool to to reach veteran players and the less prospective new players hear prior to rollout, the better. Businesses do keep Confidential Information under wraps at times. Unless, like Sony, they get hacked. Maybe GW thinks they are taking a few pages out of Apple's playbook. I wonder if all the FUD inspired someone to hack GW's web-presence thus requiring them to go down for maintenance. Or, maybe they just pulled it down to see how well the FUD campaign is working. @Branden - how many shares are we talking about, if that isn't CI? @Phatmotha-phucka - there used to be a prominent figure at GW known as the FatBloke, but I suppose you are not he? ++fear, uncertainty, and doubt.
