So I used to frequent this forum more often, but I had sold my first Lizardmen army years ago (it was actually my first Fantasy army ever).

Some of you might remember my old models:

While I have still been playing Fantasy (only Daemons), I have mostly been playing 40K. With the new book and a renewed interest in Fantasy, I figured it was time to recollect a Lizardmen Army and go crazy with painting them.

But before I can finish that I wanted to run a simple list by the best Lizardmen forum I know:
    -------------------------------------
    Lord--465
Slann BSB w/ Standard of Discipline & Channeling staff
    --Becalming Cognition, Soul of Stone,
    --Harmonic Convergence
    --Wandering Deliberations

    Heroes--142
Scar-Vet w/ Halberd on Cold one
--Armour of Fortune & Potion of Speed

    Core
    305---25 Saurus (FC)
    300---24 Skinks (FC) w/ 3 Kroxigors
    xx----10 Skink skirmishers
    xx----10 Skink skirmishers

    Special
    338---22 Temple Guard (FC)
268---7 Cold One Riders (FC) w/ spears
1xx---3 Ripperdactyl Riders (warmachine/heavy cav killers)
    1xx---3 Ripperdactyl Riders

    Rare
    84----1 Salamander w/ extra handler
    84----1 Salamander w/ extra handler
    1xx---2 Razordons
    -----------------------------------------2496 total

The idea is for the Slann to run with the TG, creating a re-rollable LD10 bubble while negating enemy Magic. Hopefully 3 dice channeling on 5+ with re-rolling my first dispel attempt each phase with be better then a Dispel-scroll.

I was not sure about Wandering Diliberations over Focus of Mystery, but in the end I decided that WD was garunteed, whereas FoM would make me waste dice on spells I don't care about just to swap them out.

I kinda want to trade the Razordons for more Salamanders (i.e. 2 units of 2 total), but I don't have the points and kinda like the stand and shoot versatiliy.

Lord choice is in my opinion one of the best possible. I play with a Slann Mage-priest (without soul of stone, the rest is the same) and two skink priests with lore of beast. My average channeling is 1-2 a turn, one time had a lucky throw and channeled 4 dice!

Hope your scar-vet will do nice, could be nice with halberd.. But easy target for your enemy! But when in combat, they will do some serious damage! maybe replace for a chief on ripperdactyl, fast and heavy striking unit, ironcurse icon so you won't get sniped (which is very easy because of the toughness 2, and when the enemy knows how good they could be they are serious magnets, so maybe better choice and better protection for one ripperunit)

25 Saurus warriors are gone quickly! maybe replace the skrox for a horde formation of 50 saurus? wyssan's wildform (str 5 toughness 5), iceshard blizzard (enemy -1 to hit), melkoth's mystifying miasma (-D3 WS) killing block of saurus!!!!! Definately worth it!

Maybe replace the salamanders and razordons for a extra skink priest and ancient stegadon with sharpened horns! (use the impact hits for heavy cavalry!:) )

After taking another look at the miscast table, I don't think Soul of Stone is worth it. ALL the miscast results suck, so changing it makes little difference.

After dropping that and the Potion of Speed from my Scar vet, I get the points I need to drop the Razordons and field 2x 2 Sallies with 1 extra handler per pack.
