Hi all!
I'm currently back onto my lizards (having been playing high elves for the past few months). So my first conversion is gor rok.I've started with an old krox model and saurused it up a bit.

And, this is the current status. I've got some more details to paint and the shield of aeons to attach though.

Thoughts, ideas, criticisms welcome!

Thanks guys.

Re: Gor-Rok conversion

OK, so i've been very busy!
I've got a few pics of the current state of Gor-Rok. All i've got left to to is a little more painting and some green stuff strap for the shield to wrap around the arm!

Saurus size comparison (fits with the fluff as a huge Saurus!)

Very nice! I like the conversion. It makes him look like a true saurus champion, ancient and huge.

Thanks friend! I'm also in the middle of creating a unit filler which I stole the idea off someone else (spawning pond).
I think I'll have to create a pic log when I've got a few more completed models!

I must say you tackled a job there, and you did it well. In the first pictures the model on its own looked good, although the white looks chunky. White is always a challenge as the titanium content tends to make it clump... (I used to manufacture paint) I bit of glycol helps smooth it out, without compromising to much integrity of the paint, (assuming acrylic paint). Seeing the model in the unit however, it looks awesome.

Thanks for the reply!
The trouble I ran into was that this was an old model that I purchased second hand and pre-painted (not so well, mind you). The issue with inexperienced painters is that they never seem to use too little paint.

In the end, I was quite happy with how it turned out, as Gor-Rok's story says he is an ancient and enormous Saurus, which the somewhat powdery finish seems to encompass.

this is a great idea! im waiting on 3 of those oop krox to arrive from ebay atm... exciting :smug:

i think you've done a great job on the conversion, he looks noticeably tougher/scarier/older etc. without looking out of place in the unit.

the paintjob also fits, his skin looks courser and scalier than the other saurus, as i imagine would happen to a saurus over time..

great work NexS1! :smug:

Thanks for the reply bonz!

My next project (currently about half way through) is Mazdamundi, which I'll post up shortly!

At first I thought the head was too big for the model, out of proportion but DAYUM dat end product looks mighty fine!

Good work!
