Gor'Rok. The myth. The monster. The legend. He is an absolute beast and is one of the few hero characters that come close to justifying his point cost. I can't seem to remember all of his abilities of the bat but i know hes a super scar vet that re-rolls all failed to wounds, you have to re-roll all successfull wounds against him and.... He always counts as defending an obstical because of his tower shield. there could be more i dont recall. Put him in a unit of Saurus and he could damn near stop a Lance formation in its tracks. (Would the errantry banner work against him? It says they get NO bonuses. does that mean from a banner as well? I say they dont get the bonus) If you keep the SCR from stacking up against him i see great potential for the hammer/axe/club weilding killing machine. I finally know what im gonna go with the scar-vet model i got in a trade. He's getting an albino paint job.
I don't think he all that great. He only gets to reroll to hits on the first round of combat, and the shield only confers the defending an obstacle ability onto him, not his unit. Nothing about him seems to really be worth over 200 points. Personally I think Tetto'eko is by far and away the best special character. Then maybe Chakax.
i would think if an enemy unit that is charging the rank that he is in then his special rule for his shield would apply that being said and assuming i'm right... put him in a unit of spear saurus and watch the fun effects
The specific wording in that "any chargers that wish to attack him will lose any and all benefits from charging". I really hope they correct this so I can put him a unit of saurus, to laugh at all charging calvary. Also, do impact hits count a charge effects? Cause I would love to watch a steamtank charge him, cause 11D3 impact hits, only to have them all negated.
the would be a charge bonus, since it is ONLY activated when YOU CHARGE. but it is also a special rule for chariots.
In my opinion it would be a big yes that he's able to block impact hits, since even if you read the fluff sometimes for rules he does that and blocks a butt-load of them, lol. Also, his main 200 point anchor lies around his 2+ save with Toughness 5 and all succesful wounds against must be re-rolled AND he's immune to killing blow. Plus that whole re-rolls to hit first round business.
