I've just been browsing COTEC and it seems Chaos generals have managed to find a really cool use for our ugly Cold One models! They're converting them into Dragon Ogres, and IMO its the best I've seen the COs look. :)

    Link.

Just thought I'd share this with everyone.

Wow! That is some pretty cool conversions! Though I had to register in order for me to see it, but no problem! Though the second guy with his tutorial put a lot of work and effort into his and they look great, I still like the first set better. But it's just my taste.

    Thanks for showing the link!

Sorry, didn't know it was registration only to view. I'll direct link a few of the photos here, there are loads more and step by step tutorials for anyone who wants to see more.

No problem on the registration. Personally, I like viewing other forums for inspiration. Especially having 11 armies to keep track of, just none of them are Chaos... yet.

On topic; Something to take note of the differences of these 2 types of conversions other than greenstuff is the in the first set, he used the entire Ogre upper torso and head and arms. In the last picture, General Lee used the upper torso and arms of the Black Orcs and the head of an Ogre. That's pretty unique imo.

Also a side note from reading the tutorial - if you buy the Ogre Bulls box just for the heads, there are enough extra ones in the box to still make your 6 complete normal ogre models too.

    Thanks for the pics, Strewart.

Yeah they are both quite different, I think I slightly prefer the ogre body ones but its pretty cool to be able to get a set of ogres and the dragon ogres if you use the blorcs.

I am about to start a polar bear themed snowy chaos army from the wastes which is why I was looking through COTEC. Can't wait!

That sounds pretty awesome! Are you going to have a blog on it and WIP pics etc.? I'd like to keep track of your progress and check it out as I really like snow themed armies.

Yeah I'll probably post in here as well as on COTEC with progress. So far my army will have 7 bears at 2500 points! My inspiration for the army is Kraan from Banelegions as a Lord on Demonic Steed. The awesome Scibor Dwarfs on Warbears will be converted to chaos dwarfs and used as dragon ogres, chariots will be pulled by the same scibor bears. Yeah, need to develop the idea a bit more and currently waiting for Kraan to be shipped (he is released tomorrow).

Wow! I really like that model! And not just the bear either (which, by the way, has jumped up to my favorite Bear model!). Kraan himself looks pretty sweet. Just an overall good looking model imo. I can definately see several possibilities with modifications from this.

You're idea sounds vividly good. Im looking forward to seeing WIPS of it.
