Hello all, long time lurker figured I would finally create an account to start posting and sharing ideas and thoughts on Warhammer Fantasy - Lizardmen, as well as other armies I have played over the past 15 years or so.

I currently have a medly of Warhammer armies, both Fantasy and 40k.

    Fantasy:

~4k points Dark Elves (standby, very nasty lists, but almost too beardy for fun play)
~1500 points High Elves (want to dump)
~3k points Ogre Kingdoms (really feel they are lower middle tier, not upper, but can discuss that later)
~2k points Wood Elves (love being an underdog)
and starting my Lizardmen army, will probably keep them as my main so will increase those numbers up

    40k:

    ~2k Dark Angels
    ~3k Blood Angels
~5k Dark Eldar (attempting to sell and/or swap for Lizardmen, might come through soon)

I am a middle of the road player, I don't try to build outrageous lists I am just playing to have fun and enjoy the hobby. I used to paint decently, but not so much anymore. Both a matter of time and shaky hands from a few deployments :)

I am really looking forward to contributing to the forum. I am rarely active on the Ogre Stronghold or Druchii forums, but want to change that with Lustria Online. It seems like a really good crowd here that help one another and discuss tactics, which I really enjoy assisting with for Warhammer.

Anyhow, hello, and hope to chat with you all soon. Oh, and I love big monsters, Carnos, Bastiladons, and Steggies incoming!

    Cheers,

Thanks! I was playing at the Bowie store, took about a two year break and now hang around the Springfield VA store from time to time.

Welcome! That was a nice introduction. Also, it's always nice to get more grizzled veterans to the forum. Oh, and you can dump the High Elves my way...

    Thanks Caprasauridae.

For me, moving over to Lizardmen is more of a rational choice with the armies I have played and with the armies I see at my local stores. Right now, I see a ton of VC and anything Chaos (Demons and Warriors), and never really a good matchup for my Ogres so I wanted something with monsters and a somewhat low model count (if I wanted to go that route).

Sure, I can take Hellheart and rush a unit of Ironguts out and try to pop Wizards and break an anvil unit, but that can get old after a dozen or so games or when players throw three cannons and two hellblasters on the board and say "bring it".

I will say that magic has been fairly fickle, so the move for me wasn't just to have an 'overpowered' magic phase, but merely to have more options. When you can look at most of your turns and think "yep, I can control at least that aspect of that turn" you are setting yourself up for a better outcome. Ogres were at the whim of HULK SMASH everything and when that didn't work, or you lost your best unit, that was game.
