Hello all, Jim here! Like a lot of people I was into Warhammer Fantasy a lot as a kid, but then real life got in the way, before getting back into it in my 30s. My brother sent me a Citadel starter paint kit during lockdown and told me to get some minis! I started off with a Start Collecting Seraphon box, and very quickly found myself buying minis quicker than I could paint them! Especially once I started looking at the older models from my childhood on eBay! To date I have painted: 12x Saurus warriors (+2 metal Saurus Lords) 8x Saurus knights 1x Troglodon 5x Chameleon Skinks 1x Oxyotl 12x Skinks with clubs and bucklers 1x Warhammer Underworlds: Starblood Stalkers 2x Saurus Oldbloods 1x Saurus Sunblood 1x Slann Starmaster 1x Old Kroak 1x New Kroak 15x Saurus Guard (+2 Metal Standard Bearers) 1x Eternity Warden 8x Skink heroes/mages/metal models 1x Tichi-Huichi's Raiders + Inxi-Huinzi (a shamefully expensive eBay purchase!) 1x Realmshaper Engine and 1x Blot Toad I also have a massive pile of shame that includes 2 Start Collecting Skink boxes, a metal Tiktaq'to, and a BloodBowl Team that I am converting. I have come across this forum a few times when looking for painting inspiration (including just now as I was looking at Stegadons!) and so decided to finally join so I had somewhere to share my models once they are done.
Welcome to Jurassic Park! Take a good look around the forum (especially the Warhammer Fantasy section where we are keeping the 8th Edition alive!) as there are a lot of hidden gems. And lots of helpful people for any questions! Enjoy! Best, LoR
Welcome along! That is an impressive army already!! Good luck painting your Stegadon. If you'd like you can start a painting blog to show of your painted and wip miniatures And if you have questions just ask Grrr, Imrahil
Thanks for the friendly welcome! I will absolutely start a painting log to record my various ups and downs and look forward to getting people's feedback!
Definitely! It's a great motivator to know that forumites will chime in with encouragement, tips and praise.
Welcome to lustria. We have plenty of forumeers that are into painting and conversions, so you should find yourself at home. For any doubt or question you may have, just ask and you'll be answered.
I thought for a minute that we had been blessed by the author of Game of Thrones himself, then noticed the new arrival's first initial was a J rather than a G Welcome to the jungle! Have you taken up good old Warhammer Fantasy once again to relive your childhood, or have you evolved with the times and moved onto AoS? Regardless, I trust you are going to enjoy your stay.
As much as ranks of square bases look cool this new collection is entirely on AoS round bases, even my Tichi-Huichi's Raiders + Inxi-Huinzi, so I hope I don't get too many raised eyebrows! Am hoping to take some time taking some proper photos of them all so I can share them all with everyone soon.
