    Hey guys.

I live in Australia and my understanding is that GW products can not be traded to me from Europe.

I was planning on ordering my products from https://www.waylandgames.co.uk/index.php. Obviously that wont work.

With this in mind I am looking for a cheap online shop that can deliver to Australia.

Does anyone know of a good one?

    Thanks for your help.

With these retarded restrictions in place, GW clearly does not even want your money. Consider buying miniatures from other companies, Maelstrom Games and Wayland Games can still ship them to us Aussies. :)

Wayland is actually setting up a loophole to be able to ship to Australia. However, they have been for 6 months now, and it is waiting for their warehouse move so it could still be a while. Worth keeping an eye on though.

Failing that, ebay usually has plenty of stuff. Need to keep a close eye on it; I managed to get two boxes of marauder horsemen brand new from an Aus seller for $30 the other day! International ebayers can also work out. Bitzbarn is good for cheap plastics if you don't care about not having a box. Dicebucket also sells to Aus, as does MWG. Make sure you carefully check postage costs and options before buying though, from the US things can get expensive in shipping.

And I think I will move this to general chat.

Thanks for that man, i'll check them out.

It seems ridiculous that GW can complain about losing money when their prices are the only cause.

and yes thanks for the move, it was posted in the wrong place.

Cheers, have a good one on thursday.

You too mate, should hopefully be a good day of cricket!

GW has been baffling lately. It really seems like they are actually trying to destroy their business. Whoever thought we would just happily accept suddenly not being able to buy from the UK and start paying double the prices in Aus was an idiot, then to turn around and alienate all independent retailers saying they were leaching off GW was salt in the wound. The whole resin fiasco was quite terrible.

I'm not sure how many people have noticed, but this year GW halved the number of models in their LOTR kits from 24 to 12, essentially bringing a whopping 35% price rise for the same number of models overnight. They have now doubled in price since first release just 8-10 years ago.

Actually I did miss one budget option for buying stuff. It is now far far cheaper for us Aussies to buy from Forgeworld than from GW Aus! And in fact it is starting to get cheaper compared to UK normal GW prices too which is completely against the original idea of FW.

Haha thanks man, if the Ponting/Clarke show continues it should be a very good day.

Yeah I find it hard to understand, I'm returning to Warhammer after about 5 years and along with increased prices, the thing that shocked me the most was that paints are now $6 each. For me personally having experienced the enjoyment you can get out of Warhammer, its almost a deterrent for a returning player, let alone a newcomer.

I did have a quick read of that letter of response from Mark Wells and the justification just isn't good enough.

It would be interesting to know exactly what their long-term strategy is, because as you say, it seems like a huge risk considering what they potentially stand to lose in brand value and business.

Thanks for your help man, I reckon I'll be able to work it out through some of those you recommended.

    Have a good one.

For paints, it seems like an easy decision to me: switch your brand. Same quality for less than half as much. I ran with Vallejo these days.

As for other methods of achieving the ol' ship from overseas method (eg. whatever waylandgames is trying to setup, bitzbarn/etc.), I cynically await the day Games Workshop tries to crack down on all of these methods. They've got a pretty long track record of targeting individuals(Chapterhouse etc.).

Inevitably though, they're going to have to do 1 of 2 things: get Australian prices in order with the rest of the world; or walk away from the Australian market. I predict the latter

Yeah I have stopped buying GW paints as well. Other brands are at least as good, come in larger volumes, and they are cheaper! I'm personally going with vallejo, but P3 and coat d'arms are also meant to be decent, all can be bought from Maelstrom or Wayland. There are conversion tables for the names of paints between the lines as well so you can still follow GW painting guides.

And you are right, there is just no real way for new players to enter the hobby. I mean, army books are now $69 for new ones! Does GW really expect to get any new customers when you need to buy the main rulebook (or starter set), the army book, glue, tools, paints... Thats $300 before you even get a model!

Threadromancy: What's the go? When is Wayland Games going to set this thing up?

Pretty much everything they have been promising lately (overseas shipping of GW stuff, live stock levels, new website etc.) is all completely dependent on their warehouse move and will not happen until that is complete. When that is going to finish is anybody's guess. I haven't actually heard an updated estimate from them lately, they just keep saying when the warehouse move has happened. I'd imagine it should be sometime this year at the very least.

Hasn't been any other topics posted about this, so I'll just go here again:

Boom! New warehouse move underway: http://hosted-p0.vresp.com/352582/defbd118ab/ARCHIVE
Hopefully, this means we poor sods living outside of Europe/US can get decent prices again.
