    Hi fellow Lizards,

I'm about to make my first Lizardmen purchase (I'm not rich if you're wondering, I've sold another army and have money for once!) and I'm thinking:

    2x Battallion boxes
    2x Saurus regiment boxes
    1x Slann Mage Priest
    1x Stegadon

    This would build:

3x units of 24 Saurus (I'm thinking spears and full command in each), and I could even convert some characters out of them.
1x unit of 20 Temple Guard.
24 Skinks which I could convert into Chamaeleon Skinks if I wanted
3x units of 5 Saurus cavalry, and I could convert a character with the spare one.
A Slann and a Stegadon, should I put the Slann on the Stegadon?

Is this a good start or is there a super must have unit that I'll be missing? And have I gone overboard on the Saurus? It's just that 3x 24 is very neat!

Generally are my choices wise? I'm gona be blowing a lot of cash!

    Cheers for any help/advice, Jonny

the only slann that can go on a stegadon is one of our special characters, and I wouldn't recommend taking him every game (or perhaps ever XD ). Salamanders really are nice to have since we lack artillery.

Cool! Thanks for the quick reply guys. I'll add in a couple of Slamanders to the list for good measure. I'll also stick the Slann with the Temple Guard (I believe that is the right choice!?) and just have the Stegadon on the rampage! I can't wait to get my Lizardmen, I've been after one for a few months and now the time is at hand!

Just out of interest... why more skinks?

well you should have at least 14-16 chameleon skinks, and atleast 20 more skrimishers, and a couple to ad to the salamander packs as aditional hadlers.... thats the minimum (that's having in mind you don't wan't to have skrox units, otherwise you would need more :D )

    Thanks again for the replies!

Iv decided my inaugural purchase will be:

    2x battalions
    2x saurus regiments
    1x Slann Mage priest
    1x skink priest
    2x salamanders

I know it's probably skink light but they will probably be my first additional purchase, I just think the saurus r much cooler! I like beefy infantry (I have a WoC army also) and skirmishers are a new element of the game for me, so I need2figure out what I need skink-wise, and how many!I decided2drop the steg because its not the powerhouse I thought it would b!I'm not a powergamer but I'd like a semi-competitive army.

    Cheers, Jonny
