Greetings from Germany to you all, I decided that it was time to stop lurking and get an account and post something myself. Originally I was more interested in 40k, but over the past year I read more and more about the original fantasy background and liked it quite a lot, especially the lizardmen and tomb kings. Seeing as Nehekhara is no more and this is one of the nicest tabletop forums if ever visited I debated starting a small army of seraphon, more as a painting/modeling project, as I don't really have anyone to play with at the moment. It never really took of, as I always told myself that I already own enough stuff. That was until I found a really cheap starclaw strike host box recently and could no longer resist, seeing as aztek dinosaurs are just way to awesome. Now I just need to find a paint scheme... So realistically I won't start painting this year.
Welcome aboard! In the current lore we’re beings of pure star stuff, so you can get away with just about any colour scheme you want without worrying about it not fitting the fluff!
That quite nice, but it won't make finding one for me easier. I'll just have to try around a bit. Are there any big mistakes I could make while building what's in the box?
You should build both the Ark of Sotek and the Solar Engine for the Bastiladon and not glue them on so you can switch them (use poster putty or magnets to attach them). That way you can use both versions. As for the Flyers: You should build either 6 Rippers or 6 Terradons. Most people prefer Rippers but both have their uses. I like both the Troglodon (cheap monster to summon) and the Carnosaur (hits harder). So you should probably build the one you like better. If you build the Troggy you get a not very useful Oldblood on foot for free (you could convert him to an Astrolith Bearer though) and if you build the Carnosaur you have the Troggy rider left over, which you could easily convert to a Priest or Starpriest. Edit: For the Skinks you should go for shields and Boltspitters as armament IMO. Otherwise.... not much you can do wrong there.
