I play lizardmen and has just recently, began playing warhammer, thats about it.

edit: It just occurred to me that I need some assistance in building a lizardmen army, it would help if you shared some advice on what to buy for a 1500 point army with an old blood general

    Welcome to the forums!

An Oldblood general? Are you envisioning him on foot, on a Cold One or a Carnosaur? That will have some bearing on the rest of your army.

Regardless of how you build your Oldblood you will want a BSB. In most cases a Scar Veteran should be your go-to BSB for Slann-less armies. Whether you want the Scar Veteran to go on a Cold One, Carnosaur, and on foot depends on what the rest of your army looks like. Assuming you are taking a big block of Saurus Warriors or Temple Guard, he should probably be on foot though if your Oldblood is going to be a lone warrior on a Cold One or Carnosaur you could get some synergy by matching your Scar Veteran.

You'll want a Skink Priest to provide a magic phase and caddy dispel scrolls. I would recommend taking a Bastiladon with the Solar Engine for the bound spell. They work great in Slann-less armies. A L2 Skink Priest plus a Solardon will cover your magic needs. For a little bit more you could take the Ruby Ring of Ruin points permitting.

Apart from those three characters, you have a lot of options for what to buy for your army. I would give the Handbook and the Army Type Tactica a look for guidance.

Let us know if you any specific questions. We pride ourselves on maintaining a friendly, helpful atmosphere here.

Now that we moved to a new forum software, there is no quote button. You need to follow this process which is slightly easier as you can quote tiny snippets of something without defaulting to quoting the entire post.
