So we all know that if a slaan and unit of temple gaurds are present in the same army that the slaan must join it. Does that go for Mazdamundi on his stegadon also? Can characters on monstrous mounts join units? If so, would he be placed in the first or second row?
Its me again. After reveiwing other forums and the rules I have come to these conclusions. A character on a monstrous mount (as long as its not a flyer) can join a unit but if its a Large Target it can be picked out as normal for shooting purposes. Mazdamundi IS effected by the temple gaurds "sacred duty" rule as he is indeed a Slaan. However Mazdamundi does not have the "Gaurdians" special rule as does the other Slaan. So he does not have to be put in the second rank. Comments?
Sounds about right to me. Monstrous mounts definitely can join units as long as neither are fliers (so you can have an engine in a unit of skinks if you were inclined), interesting question about the Mazda though. It would suck if you had to put a steg in the second rank, but it looks like you are correct and he doesn't actually have that rule.
