Alright so I have 2 lists of lizardmen Solo Slann, bsb, ethereal, cupped hands, rumination, becalming, lore of shadow, dragonbane gem 25 Sw, no champ 38 sw, no champ Scar vet mounted with great weapon, la, and emulet of itzl Scar vet mounted with la, burning, dawn, charmed shield Priest scrolll 3x6 chamos 2x2 salamanders Ancient stegadon Slann lore of life regular build, cube instead of cupped 20 tg no champ Scar vet mounted with charmed shield and gw and la Scroll caddy 53 sw, no champ 3x6 chamo 2x2 sally Ancient steg The problem with the second, is that it cannot deal with ogres at all... And anything with high str and high armor (chaos knights etc.). The problem with the first is that it doesnt have my tg which are my best painted models and the tournament i am going to has an overall score. I love shadow, i think slowing movement, reducing toughness and testing initative is a great way to deal with my army's greatest weaknesses, but i am afraid that the tg are too vulnerable and too useless without life. The solution seems to be more scar vets, But i cannot sacrifice the steg (too well painted), the chamos (too powerful), the sallys (the best units i have) or core (already at 601 points of 600). I could drop a caddy... Going with shadow and cupped and reducing enemy str might be my best bet i think... Any thoughts?
ogres nearly have any save, shoot them with skinks chaos knights are indeed a problem for all of us try to get them down with some magic, and to make sure they dont touch to many combats
I would like to see 18 chamo skinks do anything to Mournfangs... or make a dent that will change the results of combat against a horde of ironguts... Anyway, my skinks are busy killing his counter deployed cats.
Ok I got to army builder so here is the more detailed list now: Slann Mage-Priest 1 Slann Mage-Priest (General; Battle Standard Bearer) 1 Dispel Scroll 1 Focus of Mystery 1 The Becalming Cogitation 1 The Focused Rumination 1 The Lore of Life 20 Temple Guard, Musician, Standard Bearer Saurus Scar-Veteran Cold One, Great Weapon, Opal Amulet Saurus Scar-Veteran Cold One, Great Weapon, Charmed Shield 53 Saurus Warriors, Musician, Standard Bearer 3x6 Chameleon Skinks Ancient Stegadon 2x2 Salamander Hunting Packs 2400, I had to drop the priest, and light armor on both vets, as well as use the opal amulet, rather than Itzl... I could drop a chameleon to get back light armor and another to get the better amulet.
If all else fails, you could either keep shadow or take death lore in order to abuse the low I that the Ogre army has. You may also want to look at a lore like Metal. I know that (as an Ogre general) I will almost always take armor for my Ogres. Metal would destroy those mournfangs. Your salamanders should make short work of the mournfangs if you can get the right angle and cause a casualty (pretty big if with multi-wound targets).
your list is incredibly dull tbh, and with only two fighting units you can easily be tarpitted or redirected. also, you have no skinks (chameleons do not really count here) to handle enemy fast units. hence a mobile opponent can redirect your two blocks all day long if he wishes. yes yes, i know you are going for some sort of point denial thing, but besides enemy warmachines it may be hard for you to score any VPs yourself. a more standard "all comers" list will do better if handled correctly. about dropping LA on the vets. that is insanity tbh. they provide high S and a 1+ AS (if build correctly). two things ogres hate above all else. just drop one saurus warrior and get the armour at least. same goes for the amulet. 51 saurus warriors are not very different from 53, but losing those two things make a big impact on the utility of the scar vets. EDIT: oh, you might be starved for core points... just switch one unit of chameleons for regular skinks.
