Here's my current army list. I was wondering if you could help me reduce the cost a little bit. Ideally, I want a 2250 point army, but seeing these numbers I'm thinking I might have to make it a 2500.

    - Great Weapon, Light Armour, Enchanted Shield, Blessed Spawning of Sotek, Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl, Blessed Spawning of Itzl

    Oldblood: 217
    - Great Weapon, Light Armour, Shield, Charm of the Jaguar Warrior, Blessed Spawning of Sotek, Blessed Spawning of Tlazcotl

    Scar-Veteran on Cold One: 145
    - Halberd, Light Armour, Shield, Blessed Spawning of Sotek, Blessed Spawning of Itzl

    Skink Chief: 107
    - Hand Weapon, Light Armor, Blessed Spawning of Sotek, Cloak of Feathers

    15 x Saurus Warriors: 240

    - Hand Weapons & Shields, Champion, Standard Bearer, Musician

    15 x Saurus Warriors: 270
    - Spears & Shields, Champion, Standard Bearer, Musician, Blessed Spawning of Sotek

    10 x Skink Skirmishers: 70
    - Hand Weapon, Blowpipe, Scouting

    10 x Skink Skirmishers: 70
    - Hand Weapon, Blowpipe, Scouting

    10 x Skink Skirmishers: 70
    - Hand Weapon, Blowpipe, Scouting

    10 x Skink Skirmishers: 60
    - Javelins, Shields

    Jungle Swarms: 60

    Jungle Swarms: 60

    5 x Saurus Cavalry: 250

    - Champion, Musician, Standard Bearer, Jaguar Standard

    5 x Kroxigor: 310
    - 1 Ancient

    5 x Terradons: 185
    - 1 Brave

    Stegadon: 235

    2 x Salamander Hunting Packs: 130

    Total: 2898

Thanks if you can help me out.

Off the top of my head:

5 Kroxigor? With an Ancient? Here's your point sink. First: Your ancient will rarely give you back the points you're trying to put into him, extra attack or not. And having a 5 frontage with Krox will usually end up leaving one guy stranded on the outside without the ability to make an attack. Not to mention trying to manuever the line through the rest of your own forces. Drop the ancient, and the model representing him and that's over a skink unit worth of points back.

You have two Old Bloods in this list, or at least they are labeled as such. Since you can't have two lords on your list, change the JSoD to a Scar Vet and you'll save about 50 points and make the list legal again.

I'm not a big fan of the 15x Saurus blocks. While they can usually hold out against other R&F troops and sometimes enemy specials, I rarely see opponents charge a block with either of those options. Usually I see a line (or lance) of heavy cavalry making these guys their target and the results are usually not pretty. While a 20 block usually holds without needing the panic test, the 15 blocks are much more risky. Factor in the speed of these guys compared to the rest of the army and it just doesn't work out in my opinion. You have lots of other core choices in this list, so I'd suggest dropping a block and moving 5 to the other.

And while it looks tempting, I'd look past the Sotek spawning on that saurus block. I haven't seen too many instances where your blocks are supposed to be doing the charging, and the extra 20 points you're putting in there are probably going top be wasted in most games. Tlazcotl or Tepok (especially with a complete lack of spell casting) might be a better use of the spawning slot if you still want them to fall in the special category.

And on a side note, if this is still just too high, the brave on the terradons can get booted for a few quick points. It's small enough I don't feel like mentioning it, but it's a tweak that might help if you're getting close.

Ok, so that cuts 650 pts.. and that can dramatically change your armys approach.

Here is a 2000 pts list I have yet too try out, but that I think should be fun to play :)

Oldblood light armor, Enchanted Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec 443 pts
    Aura of Quetzl
Ride Carnosaur, Blessed Spawning of Itzl,
    Blessed Spawning of Quetzl

    CHARACTERS:
Scar-Veteran: Charm of the Jaguar Warrior, 113 pts
    shield, light armour, great weapon

Skink priest: lev. 2, dispel scroll 125 pts

    CORE:
15 Saurus Warriors full command 210 pts
15 Saurus Warriors full command 210 pts
10 Skink with blowpipes 60 pts
10 Skink with blowpipes 60 pts
10 Skink with blowpipes scouts 70 pts
    2 Swarms 120 pts

    SPECIAL:
    3 Kroxigor 174 pts
    3 Terradon 105 pts

    Few things with the list.

    1. You exeed the maximum Hero Slot.

    2. Also Lord slot

    3. Spawning of Sotek isn't worth it. 1 Attack doesn't make that much of a difference.

    4. 5 Kroxigor is over kill. Excpecially with a Ancient. Try to make it 2 3 blocks of them.

    5. To many heroes. The one on a Cold Blood is pretty useless in my opinion. Also get some Great Weapons you need a chariot killer.

    6. Out of all units in the game the one that needs it the least is Cold Ones. They already get 33 dice. a 4 one is really big over kill.

    7. Stegadon does not fit your list very well. It just seems like a random extra. Or a random use it. i would recomment not taking.

    And thats all.
