hey guys im entering our club tournament which is 2250 pts and will be facing a multitude of armies. Pretty much every type of army is there and i want to win but im not sure what to put in my army. This is what ive got so far slann mystery lore of life rumination +cupped hands +divine plaque of protection (400) heroes skink chief +bsb +skaven pelt banner (105) core 25x skinik skirmishers 25x skink skirmishers 20x saurus warriors (570) special 30x temple guard+stndrd+champ +terrifying mask of EEE +hutanchis blessed totem *skink chief goes in this unit (558) i need this list completed but im stuck pls give thoughts etc thanks guys ps:in tounament special characters are allowed and you have to use the same lore for each tourney game
Life comes with miscast protection, so you can do without Cupped Hands. More spells (either Loremaster or Plaque of Tepok) is much more important. You have TG so you don't need the Divine Plaque. This really does not make sense. The enemy should easily kill him the first round of combat, and often kill him before the TG attack, meaning he will do literally nothing. And his death costs you the critical BSB re-roll. And if it works, it only gives you 4 or 5 attacks anyway! No reason to field skirmishers above size 10. Too small. Size 20 gets run over very easily by all sorts of things, and you cannot buff both the Saurus and the TG. Mask of EEE might be fun, but will almost never be useful, especially because TG should always be fighting near the enemy general and BSB. The Blessed Totem isn't that great either, and I would certainly rather have razor standard or flame banner, leadership banner or maybe even war banner. And I'd say the general purpose +1 move banner is better than blessed totem. Generally the army has exactly one weapon - the Temple Guard. If the enemy can avoid or divert them, they win easily. You don't have the tools to prevent that.
Make the slann the BSB, I agree that the skink BSB will be dead before he can do anything. I would drop the skirmishers down to 10 each. Then I would add at least a unit of skrox to add some speed to the army. I think I would also drop the TG down to 20 (or 25).
I would try and fit in a Saurus Scar Vet at the very least. Make the slann the bsb Go with Lore of Life for the Slann, most versatile by far. I would raise the saurus to 30 if you have the models Give the temple guard the razor standard, and I give my champ the sword of battle (gives him a better armor save in close combat with the same strength hits and in initiative order.) Drop the skinks skirmishers down to units of 10, however many points you have left over. Also you could drop some skinks to put in some chameleon skinks, they are awesome war machine hunters and general distractions
thks guys only problem i have is if i change slann to bsb he cant have skavenpelt banner which is frenzy and hatred and with lore of life i should be able to protect chief also with my skink units i havent really had any success with skrox and i only have 3 krox :/
um frenzy = +1 atk surely that is worth it when u consider the sword that gives frenzy does it to one model and costs around the same pts
