Hey guys, there is little info here on WoC...has anyone been able to play them more recently?

My friend has them (& DoC ugh). We tend to play smaller games for time's sake (& still figuring out the game). So usually anywhere from the tiny 750 to 1500.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do w/ the points so low against them? I've lost a lot of faith in the Skink Skirmishers-blowpipes idea since they get so penalized on moving/shooting long range/double tapping. From what I've read here (& from small experience) the Sauras will most likely fall to the Warriors in CC. A Steg could be an option? Basically, w/o using a Slann & Lore of Metal do I have any decent options?

A priest or 2 could get some Magic Missiles in, but I dont see this helping significantly when he's going to be marching down the field ASAP.

My best advice it to go fast and flank. If they have marks of Khorne with frenzy this is even easier. WoC apart from their fast cav, are easy to get around. If you can flank him with your cav, while taking out his Marauder cav with skink skirmishers you should have a shot.

Terradons are also amazing in small games. Dropping rocks can essentially remove an enemy unit, and at sup 1k your looking at 4-5 units or so on the table for WoC.

Lastly, the basic steg with the giant bow, which negates armor saves, can be very useful, especially with some re-rolls from Lore of Heavens.

    Hope that helps!

    I agree with Arsenal.

Flanking WoC is easier than flanking some races because of their low movement rate and lack of redirecters. Use your ranked Skinks to bait the WoC and expose their flanks. An EoTG can be very helpful in higher point games because Burning Alignment ignores armour saves and so does some Heavens magic.

A normal Stegadon can help a lot also, as well as Salamanders with their -3 to armour save.

I would also recommend Kroxigors because of their high strength attacks. Beating WoC means negating armour saves and getting in the flanks. Use fast units that negate rank bonus and are high strength and you should be fine.
