    Hello folks ! ;)
New to the forum and the WFB world, although i played as a youngster but that was 10 years ago, alot has changed :D

I am currently having some difficulties against HE / DE matches i play, they both use a lord on dragon and 2 bolt throwers, and i have yet to find anything effective enough to avoid a complete massacre..
From the DE player, i suffer most from killing blows ( altar ) dragons charge + cold one charges..

the HE player is easier, since he has got no ring of hotek, but its still pretty bad.
Both players usually annihilate any hero ive got on stegadons before they see combat with their bolt throwers and potential miscasts ..

So i am hoping i could get some ideas for a good 2250 list capable of resisting dragons and cavalry, only restrictions are no special characters allowed..

I've got almost everything at my disposal ( 2x Stegadons, 6x terradons, 30+ TGS, 40+ saurus warriors, different heroes and priests,Kroxigors , Carnosaur, Slann, COK, a bunch of skirmishers and some salamanders )

Sofar the best ive accomplished, has been done with a magic list, even though DE always uses both Ring of Hotek in either Black Guards or COK, and sometimes even MR on the lord, but even the best so far has been a 800 point loss..

The biggest issue is most likely bad tactics, but im hoping a good army setup will help alot too..

Who can help me slay the damned elves ? :rage:

During my experiences with elves, they are very fragile. I normally field a close-combat oriented force, and this seems to work well against elves. An olblood is always my general, and depending on what you want him to do depends on his equipment. The Scimitar, Maiming shield and carnosaur pendant on a carnosaur is devastating against the lighter elven infantry (spearmen shish-kebab anyone?). Too face elven lords on dragons, i like the Burning Blade of Chotec. Its armour reduction is great against the high armour of most elven characters. Even with a ward save, any elf is hard-pressed to resist 5 strength 5 attacks hitting on 4+ and having a -4 modifier to armour. If you can get your uber-saurus on carnosaur into close-combat with the dragon riding elf, then you're set.
As for the rest of army composition, a couple of solid saurus units (18-20 strong to withstand shooting) can go a long way to butchering elves. A stegadon on a flank to counter those pesky heavy cavalry works well, and some supporting skink units to redirect charges and just be a nuisance is generally all you'll need.

Hope this helps, and good luck butchering some elves!!!!
