So I'm trying to come write an armylist of 1000points, but I'm having troubles deciding how to field my heroes, more specifically my Scar-Vet. I want to field a Scar-Vet and a Skink Priest, and as far for the Skink Priest it seems kinda obvious that you don't wanna waste too many points on him, maybe just a scroll/diadem of power or something cheaper but nothing more. But I can't seem to be able to come up with a build for my Scar-Vet that pleases me. My idea is to put him in a saurus unit and make him a killing machine. Any tips on how to properly field heroes in a 1000p game? If it matters, I'm up against Greenskins, Skaven and Dark Elves.
Dark Elves have a fairly powerful magic phase, so probably want a Skink Priest with Diadem of Power. That leaves you with 160 points for your Scar Veteran. I'd suggest you give him an Ironcurse Icon to reduce the damage that Skaven warmachines could potentially inflict. Glittering Scales is a good magic item but you Scar-Veteran may not be as effective a killing-machine as you want him to be, as 25 points has been invested into a defensive item. You could go for: Scar-Veteran, Fencer's Blades, Ironcurse Icon, Light amour. 5 WS10 S5 attacks isn't bad. As you will probably be fighting hordes, you should counter this by fielding a pair of Salamnders with extra handlers.
That sounds nice. I'm new to WFHB so not really used to making armylists yet. I also thought something along with Sword of Might and Glittering Scales, coz I fear for my generals death, does that sound like a steady loadout? Or maybe Glittering Scales and Sword of Striking?
Hi, I usually play @1K. VS Tomb Kings (and OK) a played my heroes like this: Scar-Vet (general) * charmed shield, Dawnstone, sword of might (or burning blade?), CO, LA Skinks priest * diadem of power This makes up for a total of 250 pts..... I was happy with those builds. The Scar Vet was (and is) a character that poses a threat, that cannot be ignored. The priest did what he had to do with his +2 DD. grtz
Could Potion of Strength be a viable choice for low point games? As in just trying to massacre a high point target for example a character, as that would cripple a low point army quite much.
Strength 5 basic usually suffices. If you increase your offense, you'll have to decrease your defence. Also, if you want high strength you may as well choose a great weapon, combined with Glittering Scales and Venom of the Firefly Frog. However, high toughness-low armour targets are for skinks to deal with, perhaps stick with the Ironcurse Icon for warmachine protection.
