Welcome, start with the Start Collecting Seraphon box, dive into the painting section have a look around and decide on a paint scheme for your models then we can help you with paints etc.

While your there look through the blogs for inspiration, mine is full of inspiration, honest it is........

For painting (which I'll need all the help I can get) I was thinking a darker purple color scheme, I think it'd pair well with their golden armor. I was also thinking using White and gold as war paint on my units (and big beasties) but I'm unsure what the base color of the beasts like troglodon or carnosaur should be.
 
Purple and gold are a pretty good match.
maybe like a dark violet shade of purple ?

So have you done any painting before ?

Not much, especially not miniatures. Painting is definitely what intimidates me the most about the hobby. All tips are appreciated.
