I face High Elves today. The battle was a 3k battle (a little over 3k due to the mighty empires campaign that we were running). I took the following: Slann mage Cupped hands Bane head Focus of mystery Becalming Focused rumination Lore of Light slann mage priest forbidden rod Obsidian trinket focus of mystery Lore of Life Heroes Skink Priest EOTG plaque of tepok amulet of itzel Oxyotl (using him as a sniper to try to kill Teclis) Core Saurus wariors x 27 HW and shield Skink cohort x 40 with full command and 4 kroxigors Skink skirmishers x 14 Special Chameleons x 9 Temple guard x 20 full command and banner + 1 CR. Rare Ancient Stegadon Salamander x 2 with extra handlers Salamander x 2 with extra handlers This list came in at 3301 points. The HE player had more than I did because his realm was larger than mine. I know that he had: Teclis Lvl 2 Mage (besides teclis) Dragon mage (He said it was the weakest he could bring) A unit of 40 Seaguard (archers as well--I may be getting these names wrong). A unit of 10 silver helms A unit of 25 lorthern guard (again, the name is probably wrong). 2 other units that I do not remember. Ok. We rolled up the meeting engagement. Once deployed, I had first turn. I made my movement. I charged his silver helms with my skink corhorts (aka Kroxigor delivery unit). On to magic, I rolled a 4 and a 1 (which he took the 1 and added it to his dispel pool). I decided to use the forbidden rod. I rolled a 6 as well as challeling (you guessed it, a 6). That gave me a total of 12 casting dice to his 5 dispell dice. I then had to roll for the wounds from the forbidden rod. I rolled another 6. I was taking my 3 wounds and my opponent stated that I could use my ward save on those (I though I could not, but he insisted). I rolled ANOTHER 3 6s (that is 6 6s in a row). At this point, I told him that I had sacraficed my kids to the dice gods this morning! He said that it worked! My first spell, I decide to cast dwellers below on his unit with teclis in it. I roll 5 dice and get an IF. Out of his 43 model unit, I killed 18 with that spell. The miscast result was (2 more 6s). The slann burned out 2 levels and lost two spells. I then casted net of Amyntok on the unit with teclis. I then used the remaining dice to try to cast speed of light on all units within 12 inches (because a purple sun would be coming for sure). I failed to reach the casting value. Shooting: Oxyotl missed teclis when trying to shoot him (but he was outside of any charge arcs). My 9 chameleons tried to bring down the dragon, but failed to do more than one wound. My skink skirmishers killed 4 more guys in teclis' unit. My left flank salamanders roasted some guard that were next to the dragon and facing my chameleons. The right side salamanders got a misfire (on the first one, he ate one handler) and the second rolled a 10 on the distance and put the template along the length of teclis' unit. This hit 18 models and killed another 16 models. All that is left of this unit is one rank. On to combat. In combat, the Kroxigor delivery unit killed 5 silver helms and broke them in combat and then chased them off the table. The top of his turn, he declares a charge against my chameleons (who stand and shoot, killing 5 of his guys and causing a panic check which they fail and run away! His second charge is into my skink skirmishers with a another guard unit (I think). Then he makes his other movements. When he rolls his winds of magic, he rolls 11. He gets 12 for some item. He decides that he will try to cast with teclis. He rolls his Str test (4). He then rolls his d6 for the wounds. He rolls a 6. He take 5 wounds and removes teclis from the table and then tells me that I have won! All in the first turn! It was awesome!
Man that has got to be one of the craziest games I have heard about haha, fortune really smiled upon you that day. And feel bad for the HE guy, that really sucks. GOOD JOB!
It was amazing. I have a tournament coming up next weekend, I hope it goes even half as well (I'm sure it will not). I was willing to keep playing, but he said it would be pointless.
