Kind of yes. GW have all but phased out DoW though, and they have said they will probably never be made again, so its probably best to just leave them where they lie. If you were to use some, you would need opponent's approval. There used to be pdf lists of them and what army could take what units, but GW have taken it off their site, so you would need to find that from somewhere first. The only real DoW still usable is the Giant, I cannot remember if we can take it or not. I know my poor HE's couldn't be bolstered by one.

Theres enough lizardmen units to make a full army. Don't get any dogs of war units. Why? Because the ones that are actually better than lizardmen units (not many, if any) will do the following---
-- Look out of place (and frankly retarded) on the field with your army
-- Nerf you compostion scores and tournaments. A cannon? Really?
-- Most likely nerf your sportsmanship scores. Imagine you one shot a lord on a dragon (or the fricking dragon..) with a cannonball or something else good from a random ass dogs of war unit. They guy your playing could be madly in love with you and it would still negatively effect your sportsmanship score.

By the way, i've actually taken a DoW unit to a tournament before. All of the above happened to me, although i have no proof of the third point, of course. I'm purely speaking from experience and not to flame or crap on your dreams. If you really want to take Dogs of War, go ahaed and do it. Enjoy your gaming.

The only Dow unit that appeals to a lm player in my opinion would be a giant.
I went to a gaming club once and i saw a fellow Lm player and he would win all the time, and he would always use a giant.
I agree with thesecondman about nerfing your sportsmanship score and i have no clue of what the Dow rules are, i only know what the giant can do from from what his stats and special rules are he looks pretty good!

Stegadons perform the same function as giants (big, tough, expensive, dangerous) and don't look silly or nerf your comp scores, unless you take more than one, mabye two depending on tournament convenors.

    Hi Guys!!

As far as I know Lizardmen can't hire Giants (I've got the white dwarf from when they were revamped).

I still have the dogs of war and regiments of renown .pdf and the White Dwarves for the updated Tichi Huichi's Raiders and the Lost Legion (so they are more up to date). I also have the Amazon Regiments of Renown White Dwarves (Serpent Priestess & Anacondas Amazons). So if there is a lot of demand I can type up or scan in the White Dwarves and find somewhere to host the .pdfs.

    Hope this helps, Bez

P.S. I also have the White Dwarf for Mengil Manhide's Manflayers so if there is a lot of demand I'll throw them in too ;) .

P.P.S. It said I cannot post attachments in this thread, so if someone could enable it I could post the relevant .pdfs as they are very small.

As far as I know you should be able to post attachments.. Look underneath the submit button on a new post, there should be a browse button where you can attach a file.

Try now. If not, I don't know how to allow you there is no reason you shouldn't be able to. This has come up before and Sammy has the settings so that everyone can upload, but it just doesn't seem to work for most members. I might have made an exception for you though.

Otherwise, I can upload so you can email them to me and I will upload for you in the thread. If you do that, remember to link to this thread, I look at so many every day I would forget where this one was. ;)

I could see someone running the DoW heavy cavalry, Voland's Venators, and just using the cold one knight models with the champ being Voland himself. For those times when you absolutely don't want to risk stupidity on your heavy cav.

I don't think a cannon would be very sporting, although you could probably cook something up in terms of the lizardman fluff equivalent for many of the other choices. Or you could heavily convert a cannon to look like some rare piece of the Old Ones' technology. Similar idea could work for the galloper gun.

halfling hot pot = skinks with stegadon dung hurler... Splat!

Al Muktar's Desert Dogs = skinks riding cold ones with heavy modding involved

Then of course there are Tichi Huichi's raiders, no modding needed.

I have the army builder program, with the new, updated LM, and under the allies button, it says LM, dogs of wars, ogre kingdoms...(Although, the codex does come before the roster in rules disputes....)So really, I don't know...

    Hi All,

The only dogs of War Im ever comfortable fielding is ogres at the moment (from the Ogre Kingdoms book), as all the rest are in the depths of antiquity...

This being said you could do something with Kroxi's to theme ogre DOW into your list, eg, a kroxi with some strange spawning or, in the case of leadbelchers, totting around a sallie or razordon as a weapon! (don't make me use the other end!)

Wow a kroxigor carrying a small razordon would look hilarious, I'd almost be tempted to do it.

How did I manage to pick yet another army that can't use giants... They look so cool I really want to justify buying one but they don't go in any of my armies.

    ouch.
I never use DoW, never even thought about it. Neither giants or ogres for that matter. I'll just stick to my expanding LM army. :D

My shop owner plays it as, if it does not let you in your book, then you can't play them. And don't trust AB as i used it a little while ago and it still gave me the old chameloen skink rules.

Hey bez i would love those PDF's.......if you ever get them up
