Well I don't really know, but I played against my friends vamps last weekend and completely obliterated him. But his list is/was tailored against the 7ed army book and he hasn't learned the new one yet. He didn't have any terrorgeist, but he fielded the mortis engine wich was mostly harmless. His main fighting force was a graveguard unit with a lvl 4 necromancer. My augumented life stegadon smashed them to pieces, st 6 killing blow have no effect against a T10 steg. Also upped shield of thorns killed quite alot of the grave gaurds. I most say that the main reason that I won was my strong magic and that he had extremely unlucky winds of magic rolls. He hadn't enough dices to dispell my remains in play and cast his own spells. It also helped that my army was a lot more agile than his. A unit of skink skirmishers with javelins danced around a block of ghouls and managed to kill every last of them. By turn 5 when he gave up the only thing he had left was the mortis. I lost a unit of skirmishers and 3 terradons, that was about it. Total anihilation! ^^
Vampire Counts? I haven't played them yet but in the hands of an able general, they are a force to watch out for. Ethereal cavalry! Their one weakness is the lack of shooting. They can use magic, yes, but they have no shooting besides that. Engine of the Gods is also useful against them in larger games.
Hard to lose vs them. Medium mode = No salamanders Hard mode = No slann No salamanders No Bsb No ScarVet
The terrorghiest and banshee shrieks are in the shooting phase and apparently quite unpleasant.[/quote] They are indeed. They completely ignore BSB's and more importantly cold blooded, they scare the pants off my expensive Temple Guard and as they don't roll to hit 1 Banshee = dead skinks
