8th Ed. How do lizardmen deal with Teclis in 8th?

    Subject says it all. Teclis was a beast before but with the new lores and the ability to roll 6 dice (almost guranteeing a double and thus Irrestiable Force) he's gotten even tougher. I can see Teclis with Lore of Life getting an IF "Lurkers Below" off on a slann's unit turn 1 and possibly neutering a LM army first turn.

    Any ideas outside out of the Feedback and Sivejir's Hex (turn you into a frog on 5+) scrolls?

    He is scary but still has to meet the casting value to Becalming will be well worth it.

    The blood statue of spite has allways been a decent item for dealing with low toughness wizards.

    Ive got a question about that: Teclis has the ability to roll IF with other doubles than just sixes. Do the other doubles (IF then) also induce a Miscast?

    As per the rulebook, No, they do not. Anything that states that it causes IF outside of the double 6's roll causes IF without miscasting (unless otherwise stated), hence the ability to play tetto'eko.

    Dude.. im dealing with the same exact thing.. im about to play my bro who brings teclis in an almost deathstar phoenix guard.. i was planning on taking slann lore of death and sniping him (especially with bane head) or dwellers below with his S2.. buuut.. he pointed out the banner of the world dragon which means slann is useless :depressed:

    but then i was thinking.. i could easily kill him in close combat with simple saurus. with the new step up rules where everyone still attacks back then if Saurus still have a few ranks your looking at around 9 attacks against WS3 T2 no save Teclis, just dont declare a challenge so he wont go to the back ranks..

    Now the only problem with this is actually getting into close combat with high elf magic and shooting.. not a huuuge deal tho.. Sun Standard on BSB and get MR in there however.. the initative test spells will slaughter tho but thats why you bring two or three units annnnnd...

    Slann with Lore of Light making then I10 WS10.. with Phas Protection thats an extra -1 Hit modifier.. also with slann... bring feedback scroll with bane head.. when he throws those 5 or 6 dice then BAM.. i just rolled two 5s.. what? THE Teclis doesnt have Ward save?.. well then hes dead my friend.. 65 pt wizard killer.. (MR doesnt work with Feedback scroll does it?)

    Oxyotl is another choice but very risky... theres a few more things i thought off but if he brings Banner of World DRagon than Saurs are next best.. bu if he doesnt, then Sniper Lore of Death or Dwellers Below..

    Any thoughts anybody cause im still afraid to play my bro in a few days haha

    that why i'm not a fan so special characters .... almost never use them .... We got some broken ones too, Gor-Rok under the new composition rules can make a insane army

    Ehh I still think ours still really suck. And even if you like them, they are no where near as broken as Teclis.

    But I never use them and my local group rarely does. It is kind of an unspoken rule.

    How about the scroll that inflicts a wound on the caster on a 5+ for every power die used (I think its called the Feedback scroll? - I don't have the new book yet). The spell will get through, but it can put a hurt on Teclis.
