With all of the new upgrades and changes coming in Feb. for us how do you think they will effect they way you play? I have just now learned the real value of Saurus and will just field more with the point cut. Which of the many special characters will you use? I like Nakai the wanderer and the Temple Guard special character. I will probably own all of them. Spinodons or sallies?
i think that you have accidently got two identical threads here. but i would think that on the sallie question i would go for both sallies and razordon.
This is a huge question for me. I am VERY worried that this will be a big change for Lizardmen. It appears that they will be more dino like and less magic beings. I imagine a battlefield covered with dinos and huge monsters scaring the pants off our opponents instead of frustration them w/ the vast array power dice and spells.
Also, we seem to be losing some of the aztec feel we had going to become more dinosaur oriented (I know this has little to do with tactics but I think its worth a mention).
Okay. From the look of the actual book ( Go to Warseer if you really give a flying F:*^&) Anyways. Slann getting downgrade but now are actually affordable Saurus are going back Old School Scar vet is getting better Swarms are going down to 30 points ANYWAYS if you really care go to Warseer
Hmmm, hard to tell rumors from facts, but I think I'm happy with the changes so far.. My prayers really was heard about SC, given wast ammount of choises, but I'm affraid people might depend too much on them.. Guess we'll just have to see.. I could say a few more things, but is just too tierd.. All added up I think the next Lizzy verson will be great, one way or another! It just comes down to a different approch and strategy when setting up your army.
I like most of the new changes, even the downgrading. I will almost always take a flaming attack, so probably will keep the sali's no matter what, the idea of the razor's seems cool, I'm really hyped up about the new steg kits, and the rules that really needed to change, saurus scaly skin, not changing the type with upgrades, and the weapon adjustment, i love saurus, and allowing the other units to have spawnings. I think the machine of the gods would be a cool model to have, but i don't know how well it will field. I think its really to hard to say how much my tactics will change, I'm just hoping it will help me against my rival army's that just got upgraded, Dark Elves and Daemons. I just can't wait.
i would hope that the fluff holds the same, or even better quality then the current book. but the wide selection of steggis i could use to my advantage a very large bit.
I personally would rather have an espensive but amazing Slann. We're supposed to be the rulers of the magic-casting world, so downgrading is a sad excuse for doing so. I want to be able to take a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch head on with magic instead of cowering in fear. We're the Lizardmen for Sotek's sake!
i agree to, from what i heard the new lore that the slann get is supposed to justify their magic ability.
Thank you for that. i'm still a lil discouraged about the Slann being a lil nerfed. I love not being able to miscast The change tot the rules w/ the skink priest will make the Slann the master of the magic on any battle field! I can't wait to see some more of the details so I can start working out some nice Slann combos. I think a Slannn teamed up w/ a few new models might make him strong. Can't wait to see what an Engine of the Gods can do on the battle field.
Eh, I'm the kind of person that holds out till the fat lady sings. These are all rumors, things can easily change between now and two months. So let's not set anything in concrete until one of us is holding the book in our hands.
from what i could tell that post was dated 18-02-2008, this one http://samuraigunslinger.com/2008/10/28 ... en-rumors/ is dated October 28, 2008 although I'm kinda a wait and see person, if i was to go for rumors I'd go for the later date.
Not true actually, the books are printed and finished six months before release and do not change. As far as the Slann being nurfed, I wouldn't class a minor downgrade as a nurf. The ancient powers can be combined to make a Slann almost as good as the current 2nd gen. yet cheaper. One power allows you to ignore a miscast on a roll of a 2+ and if that roll is 4+ swap the miscast onto an enemy wizard. P.S. The date is the date the thread was created, but it's a round up, everything went in there over the last few months, the most recent only a few days ago.
