Hi everyone!
I'm brand new to Age of Sigmar as well as wargaming in general. I tried it a long time ago (15 years ago? lol) with 40k but never got into it. It was really just something to do with my boyfriend at the time, and I only really picked it up to do something he enjoyed with him. I think I painted like 4 models total :'3
The army I picked (eldar) wasn't very interesting, I didn't really enjoy the game or the hobby aspect, and the community was really unwelcoming (RAMPANT misogyny, ableism, antisemitism, just...all the best isms, super cool) to boot. Heard AoS is much better!

But with the seraphon I'm feeling...joy? Every time I look upon my tiny lizard bois? I am feeling excitement when I think about all the dumb shit I want to do with my slann model when I can pick one up? These are new feelings for me in this hobby and I'm starting to think I may actually enjoy this game.
I was given the skink start collecting box as an early xmas gift and I've put together everything but the terradons so far. For my slann I was thinking I would use Kroak's throne and just put a blot toad up there with a tiny little wizard hat. I am not a super serious person, lmao.
And because I fucking love Monster Hunter, I was thinking for the paint scheme I'm going to paint my skinks like velociprey, the terradons like rathalos, the carnosaur like a tigrex, etc. I don't know if I have the painting skills to pull it off but I sure as hell am going to try :3

Wow, real shame that you got a lot of s**t when you first started. You picked the right army and right forum to have a friendly community this time though.

We have all aspects of the game, from painting/modelling through to AoS tactics and even a bunch of refined (and very friendly) 8th edition players! (I'm one of them)

Have a good look around and don't feel that any question is too stupid, there are a lot of people who'll be happy to help, answer questions or just chat.

I cannot speak for all AoS community (pretty sure idiot people exist everywhere), but i can grant for sure that this forum is 100% friendly.

Good enough to make you feel at home? I'm new here as well. I have experiment the same kind of game group experience, fled from it and found, I don't know how, some very nice people to play with. Each game with a new partner is a social gamble.
By the way I'm glad you've found your way in the hobby.
