I have a 1500 point Tournament comming up, and given the point limit the Slann can't exeed 375 worth of points.

I've been thinking which combos might come out on top, though i'm having a hard time deciding.

Focus of Mysteries and The focused Rumination i see as "must haves" for the most part atleast, to fill out the last 50 points could either be:

Divine Plaque of Protection (I'm running a lone slann, so this should surely be handy vs Empire and Dwarfs)
Cupped hands (You can't always rely on Vines to be up, or life being a viable lore against the enemy army)
Becalming (Shutting down a level four mage at this point bracket, should practically shut down most of his offence)

This is the 3 settups i'm primarily considering, though another idea could be to drop Focus of Mysteries, and get in Plaque of tepoq instead, to alow for Divine Plaque of Protection + Beaclming.

Any helpfull thought or points i might be missing is welcomed :)

    well, a simple one is:

    Slann: 355 pts
    - Focus of Mystery
    - Divine Plaque of Protection
    - Cupped Hands of the Old Ones

In a 1,500 point situation your Slann won't need the extra power dice I don't think. The Plaque will keep him alive from shooting barring the unluckiest of dice rolls, and cupped hands because it's always pretty :) You Might even drop the Cupped Hands seeing as you don't have to worry too much about miscasts with using one less power dice than you would normally toss and you could go with either Higher State of Consciousness or Aura of Quetzl for some staying power when you are stuck in h2h.

Or grab the battle standard with Divine Plaque and Focus of Mystery with Aura of Quetzl, stick him in a unit of Saurus for the 'Look out sir!' roll and keep regenerating your poor champion to keep on taking challenges until your opponents Lord finally snuffs it ;) jajajaja poor little champion..

    mystery
    rumination
    divine plaque.

if you run a lone slann with life miscasts won't matter unless you get sucked into the realm of chaos or roll the -wizard lvl. every time you cast a life spell you get your wounds back so it won't really matter how amny wounds the miscast causes. also, throne of vines

Thanks for the solid ideas :)

Though i think i'll be running the simple

    mystery
    rumination
    divine plaque.

This should do pretty nice with life i think, though heavy WoC and stuff where metal is needed could be dangerous without Cupped Hands. But well, can't have everything at this bracket.

    Cheers lads.
