I'll be unhappy if they come out at the same time even. If that happens, I say we lead a massive expedition to claim Naggaroth for the Old Ones, free their Cold Ones.
If their Cold Ones and Our Cold Ones Interbreed, we'll find out if Derpyness is a dominant or recessive gene!
If they interbreed...wouldn't that be our old 5th/6th edition cold ones? Longer body and outstretched neck (DE) with dumb head (LM).
We could start "playing for keeps" against DE. On the note of FAQs, is the DE book in dire need of a FAQ like our book?
Not really, no. The big one appears to be the Cauldron of Blood, where the wording allows models within 6" with the Murderess Prowess special rule to re-roll all failed wounds. The intention is clearly to improve Murderess Prowess from rerolling 1s to re-rolling all fails, but the Reading As Written interpretation is that it allows all wounds - ranged and magical - to be re-rolled. Personally I think that's a silly interpretation, just like I do for the whole "models in base contact with Skinks can only target the Kroxigor" fiasco, but its gaining some ground. I also hope there's an FAQ to allow Sisters of Slaughter to remove Steadfast as well, but I think that's just going to be wishful thinking.
According to the fluff of both book (the older DE book anyway), Dark Elves and Skinks gather Cold One eggs. They tame Cold Ones. They don't domesticate and breed them.
I fully expect the FAQs to all get updated sometime this month. Last October they updated them all and then again in April, they updated nearly all of them. It has been another six months so I figure we will see updates to all of them again.
Sometime this month, you say? I really hope it comes before my tournament in 9 days... I like cookies.
I'd love to see a Lizardmen Faq this month. It would be nice for GW to finally clear up a few things.
An FAQ this month would be great (depending on results lol) as it would be just in time for an upcoming tournament with my local club
Don't think they will though As stated HE faq would have been done if they had any consideration army to army release. Last FAQ was April 13th, but lets face it they do not care that my skink chief cannot join the Terradon / Ripper unit...
I was talking with my GW manager and he thinks we won't be seeing any more FAQs. Argument being the accelerated production/release of the armies and the new WHFB version to be released next year. Since GW hasn't released any FAQ for several books now, I tend to believe this will hold true. I do hope it's wrong though.
I haven't played in tournaments (I'm awful), but if Games Workshop doesn't release any more FAQs, couldn't the tournaments simply get together with the FAQ-less armies and house-rule the official rules that don't make sense? The variance between tournaments could be aggravating though...
I really hope that this is not the case. It would be a very pathetic and lazy move on GW's part. I don't think it takes all that much effort to put out a faq for an army and even less resources. What kind of company does not support its product? I still have hope that a faq will be released; just don't know when.
Just like to point out that 40k got a bunch of FAQs last month. I don't see why they wouldn't give WHFB any.
Unfortunately, the 40K updates from last month were basically just changing the Servo Arm for the other Marine books to match that of the new Space Marine codex. So, I don't think we can take it as any kind of indication of what's to come for Fantasy. My belief in a FAQ this month comes from my reading from somewhere that GW was interested in doing regular FAQ updates. I can't remember where exactly I read it (it was a while back and a google search didn't help) but it also does seem like they been on a six month schedule.
