With most wizards able to take Lore of Undeath, and the bonuses to Daemons, And Undead in End Times, Is Light the way to go with Lizardmen? I feel like it would be very powerful the way armies seem to be situated right now. These are the main reasons Im attracted to it. 1. The lore attribute would prove golden against the hoards of undead that people can raise with the Lore of Undeath, besides its normal uses against Daemons, VC, and undead. 2. Against the numerous elf armies we are likely to face, the combat buffs would help put us over the top of their fragile troops. 3. Add in Tetto and you have an incredibly powerful mix of missiles, buffs and hexes. 4. Both the CO bus and the skink cloud are heavily comped in swiss right now. A saurus heavy list supported by a Light Slann would put us at a more average comp score, but still be very effective 5. We get to make better use of our monsters. Our monsters need some buffing to really become terrifying, with a light slann the Ancient Steg and Scarnosaur become a lot more tempting. Double so if you are also taking tetto for the vanguards. 6. The 50% lords and heroes means we get to still take slann and tetto and cowboys/scarnosaurs. These are very potent under light. 7. The skink cloud is annoying, but all the preparation to fight wood elves seems to have made people more able to handle such styles. This are just my musings. What do you guys think?
I think Light is the old best lore for Lizardmen. Before we got the new 8th ed book I was a huge proponent of using Light Slann most of the time. If you use End Times magic from the Khaine book, I believe High Magic wins. In normal games I happen to like Slann with the Focus of Mystery and Wandering Deliberations slightly better. I do believe Light is the best BRB lore for Lizardmen since it covers the weaknesses of Sauri perfectly. I agree with all seven of your points but I only mostly agree with part one. The End Times has added increased interest to fielding undead, but very few people (besides me) seem to be trying to utilize the Lore of Undeath in tandem with their living armies.
