8th Ed. Jav's suffer from long range? So stick to blowpipes?

    It seems like javs suffer from long range now which kind of offsets the extra range they were given. So if I am running skirmishers should I stick with the blowpipes.

    Javelins are also Quick to Fire though, so unlike Blowpipes you will only get the modifier for long range if we ignore cover.
    Blowpipes tend to have a -3 modifier when they double-tap while Javelins will have a -1, but no double-tap.

    I myself like my Blowpipes, they're versatile. Also getting to fire 20 shots when you occasionally happen to be in short range they're gold.

    It is fairly easy to get withing short range as well. You can march and shoot with them, so if you can march within short range, then shoot (double tap-you should be hitting on 6s at short range-if you are still at long range, only shoot once-still hitting on 6s).

    If you only shoot once (it is essentially the same as having javelins).
