The wounds of the crew are now the wounds on the war machine (i.e. 3 crewmen = 3 wounds on the war machine). Yes, chameleons are now awesome for hunting these. Not sure about the screaming bell. I think it is in a unit (wouldn't you have to kill the unit first? not sure).
No, especially in the case of high elves, the machine has 3 wounds while there are only 3 crew, A goblin one with an orc bully still has 3 wounds despite there being 4 models As per the BRB
p.108 from the BFRB "A war machine's Wounds are always considered to be equal to the number of remaining crew models (which is stated in the war machine's entry) - the Wounds value on its profile is included only out of completeness" I'm not sure why this one keeps popping up, the rule book couldn't be more clear. Please, before answering rules questions, double check the rulebook if you aren't sure. That's how rumors like these take off like wildfire. I think it is an elf conspiracy to gain an extra wound for their warmachines, when we all know it is only 2!
Ive never played with the steg bolt thrower. Is it a poison attack on each model on the line template or just the first model hit?
not really in my experience. but you still get the steg under the bolt thrower and you can even field 1 in a 1ks pt game, or 2. even 4 in 2k ^^
eh, just gonna upgrade it to an ancient steg. want to get that thing into battle anyway with the thunderstomp and impact hits...
