Long long ago I was a comic book reading, marvel card collecting, magic the gathering playing kid. I was 11. I had made friends with an older boy at scouts who introduced me to AD&D 2nd Ed and subsequently to Warhammer. It took a year but I got my two nerdiest friends interested and we began to build armies. They were more into 40k, but I loved fantasy. When 5th came out we were in the 12-13 range, and there were now four of us, and I selected Undead, one selected Lizardmen in the new box, one played Wood Elves, and the last Empire. It was fun but then GW ripped apart my Undead into Vampire Counts....and slowly my love died away.

My groups changed. People came and went. All armies were represented at times.

    Then I moved for college....
Fast forward 10 years of having no wargaming.

I return home and find my friends were playing other games but two others now played. One was playing Warrior of Chaos or Empire, the other Dwarfs. But they stopped playing just after I decided to build some High Elves. I had a couple sprues and a couple Isle of Blood sets. I was sad. Three years have passed until the release of Lizardmen.

I always wanted Lizardmen. They were the most interesting to me when I read about them but the early days had some horrendous sculpts. So I looked at the new stuff, and the new book. I knew what to do. In the last 3 weeks I have:

Made two guys dig out armies from the bottoms of closets
1 guy has bought 1500 points of Ogre Kingdoms
1 guy is looking at Orcs and Goblins
1 girl is looking at Beastmen
We have two or three others we are luring in.

    Oh yes....WHFB is on again!

Hi my name is Kyle. I'm a late 20s guy who is old enough to start feeling old in the monrings. I am married and work as a Senior Engineer in support in a software company. I play many games, and volunteer as an event runner (Press Ganger) for Privateer Press.

The story above was just meant to detail my 19 years with the hobby. many miniature games have come and gone but WHFB was always the game that enthralled me even when I could not play it. I have been trading off my Tau (I'm just disgusted with 40k) for Lizardmen on Bartertown and have successfully gotten a couple saurus bricks, some skink skirmishers, some hunting packs, some temple guard, a slann, three stegadons, a skink priest, a carnosaur with kroq-gar, and 16 cold one cavalry with two heroes. I find I want so much more because, I mean dude, Dinosaurs!

The army has inspired me to even begin planning my own terrain for gaming at home to build a temple complex using Hirst Arts Molds. I'm in the early planning phases to determine exactly which molds I need and what I want to aim for first.

Glad to find a great Lizardman community!

Welcome Kyle. I too got into Warhammer long ago and rejoined after a long hiatus.

I will plug the Tactica index (in my signature). It should give you a good grouding in the new book.

I will plug Spawning of Bob's comedic works on the fluff subforum and Bob will plug my stories

And I will say our Painting Forum is top notch.

You should consider asking N810 to make you an avatar.
