Hey guys! First of all this has NOTHING to do with our dear lizards, im just curious if anyone of you guys has laid their hands on the new Kharadron overlords and what you think about them! cheers.
I saw them when I was at Warhammer World with @InfamousBeany - not touched them though. The models looked really cool... There are lots of lists floating around online, but until they get played and people see how they actually work we're not going to know much. Nice looking models. Nope. My friend was close to, but when he saw the price for those few units he went into rage-mode and started looking at Nurgle instead. I like the ships and some of the infantry, but dislike the single balloon guys and the hat guy. Too silly for me.
Yeah i actually liked all the models BUT their hatguy, they could have made him a superbadass guy, instead they made him the trollface of sigmar haha
Well not my sort of thing, nice models but I won't find myself playing them, I will have the metal parrot though. My BF will be running 30 of the normal troops and a leader for the first 500 points for Tale of Gamers.
Models look okay, but they seem kinda difficult to make your own considering theyre metal head to toe. I can't really think of a paint scheme that'd make them any more interesting either. The boats are rad, but I almost wish they made them dingier and more janky and gave them to skaven instead(flying rat pirates? Yes please)
I say co/opt the warscroll for that frigate but build a Lizardman Flying Battle Barge. Scratchbuild project. Same points. Same rules. Saurus crew.
Had to look up "Megaman Chatacters" ... I think it would work. Would you change the heads/faces? Or go with the grumpy dwarf helmets?
I think I would try one with the grumpy dwar face helmet, and if I didn't like it, I might hollow out the helmet and stick a different head inside of it. Really tough to tell how I am going to mod something until I get my hands on it
They just look like stormcast squats to me, and you can't even pick out the dwarves on the boats from a distance cause they just look like little pieces of machinery. I'll probably just hang the dwarves off meat hooks dangling off the sides for my pirate rats
Had the game against them today, I hate their shooting. So much rend. Also hated the battleplan he went with, he said he wanted to use it instead of the normal game. I noticed the reason why he wanted to use it, he gets buffs from it he kill something in the first round. Which is a near guarantee because the range they have. I only noticed this once I left the table, nothing is really different except deploy is 18" and he gets buffs. How cheeky of him... He never told me what the battleplan was Welp, off to the drawing board to see what Seraphon units can do to them. Could drop a brick of Chameleon Skinks. They just get so many buffs, so if you like tons of buffs. Get the Kharadron Overlords. Update: Just looked at the battleplan myself, was just crazy unlucky that he got the buff. I could of gained something but the table was against me.
I love the models, and they're a blast to play with. I like the direction they're taking with new Battletomes, but my biggest issue is that they are a hard army for an opponent to play against because they have a wealth of options while other armies have very simple ones. It's hard to meta against.
