I know Koatls Claw are the underdog faction of the Seraphon right now, but here's my attempt at them now. I like their playstyle the most and believe they'll become competitive in the future. Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Koatl's Claw - Mortal Realm: Ghur - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumphs: Indomitable Leaders Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (215) - Greatblade Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (215) - Greatblade - Artefact: Blade of Realities Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (215)* - War Spear - Artefact: Eviscerating Blade Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (215)** - General - Greatblade - Command Trait: Dominant Predator Skink Starpriest (130)** - Spell: Hand of Glory Skink Starpriest (130)** - Spell: Hand of Glory Battleline 30 x Saurus Warriors (315)* - Spears - Reinforced x 2 5 x Saurus Knights (110)* - Lances 30 x Saurus Warriors (315)* - Spears - Reinforced x 2 5 x Saurus Knights (110)** - Lances Core Battalions *Battle Regiment **Warlord Additional Enhancements Artefact Total: 1970 / 2000 Reinforced Units: 4 / 4 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 136 Drops: 7 Strategy: 2 threat sources in the list; carno mob, and the warrior blocks. The warrior blocks would each be traveling with a starpriest to keep serpent staff on them at the very least. Knights for mobility and a HTL sacrifice unit. Any advice would be appreciated. (Keep it constructive though).
I like KC too - there's definitely some play in them. This list looks good as-is, but here's my suggestions: Trade out the Greatblades on your Scar-Vets for Warspears. You might find yourself regretting that 4+ to hit and lower attack volume. -2 rend for the guy with the Blade of Realities looks good on paper, but remember he needs to hit those attacks first! Consider trying to squeeze a Slann in there (maybe drop a Carno + something else?). The more I play, the more I find he should be in pretty much every Seraphon list - more CPs and table-wide unbinds + chip damage is so, so valuable. Take Celestial Equilibrium to make your Hands of Glory more reliable (then you can change it up every hero phase to suit the situation).
I'm interested to know how this worked out for you. Were you able to do well with this list, or similar list, or did you move to something else?
a little late to the party, but as alternative to the Slann, while keeping intact the quadruple carno list, could be to swap one of the starpriest to take a Starseer (given that you are sparing 30 pts). He would mitigate the issue of slow saurus movement and (offensively) control fate can be as powerful as the serpent's staff
